Using Charcoal to Create Mood

We are artists and used charcoal today to practise different shading skills. We then transferred these skills to show mood by colouring a portrait of Rosa Parks. #LovePlover

Shading with charcoal!

In year 1 we are learning about shading, hatching and cross hatching.
We have practised first, and then we have shaded an outline of Rosa Park’s face.

Mood and Colour

These awesome artists used different colours to shade faces and represent the different moods/emotions! #LovePlover

Final Product Plans

Today we have had a go at drawing owls, badgers and hedgehogs. We will be critiquing these and then painting then onto stones as part of our final product. Here are some of our beautiful drawings.

Great Fire of London Art

Today we cut different sized shapes to create our Fire of London silhouette houses. The children were proud artists and created some beautiful work! #LovePlover

We are Artists 🎨

First we completed our colour wheel and mixed primary colours to make the secondary colours orange, green and purple.

Then we started our Fire of London art and created a backwash with light and dark oranges using a sponge. #LovePlover
