Coby the star!

Coby has been a total star today. Not only has he impressed me with his independent writing by using all of the features on his RUBRIC but he’s absolutely smashed the bus stop method today! He has even been coaching his group on how to accurately apply the bus stop method! So proud of Cobes and I definitely think you deserve 4’s on your HOWLs today! Keep it up super star!

Craig’s visit to the W557 memorial ❤️

In years 5&6 we have been learning all about the W557 crash over Hatfield Moor that happened during WWII. Craig has been so engaged in this topic that he has regularly gone home to talk to his Grandad about it. Craig and his family decided to visit the memorial as Craig was so desperate to visit the place where the plane had crashed! He was so excited to share his trip in Crew this week and now we have lots of excited children hoping to go and visit too! Thank you for sharing your photos Craig! I’m so pleased you and your Grandad are enjoying our Expedition so much!

5/6 Christmas cards

The time is nearly upon us to start thinking about Christmas in school. Many children and adults ask us about cards. Due to the current situation, we have thought about how best to go about the giving and receiving of cards in school this year.

This year, please only send cards to children in your year group bubble (eg 6B, 6H & 6C or 5W & 5K).

From December 1st, children can bring cards and place them in the year group post box. This will be in their classroom. Cards can be dropped in any day up until 11th December.

On 11th December, the post box will close and no further cards can come into school. This will mean all cards will enter a period of quarantine. On Tuesday 15th December, all cards will be given out.

Please ask a member of the 5/6 team if you have any further questions.

Thank you for your support in helping to enjoy the joy of giving and receiving cards, whilst keeping everyone safe.

Reading around unfamiliar words

Year 6 have been working really hard to read around the text to discover word meaning! They made predictions before researching the actual definitions and they were have added them to our word wall! When done 6B!

Responding to critique as artists

Last week, Year 6 produced some stunning artwork to be featured in our end product for our current Expedition (which is being made as we speak, how exciting!)

They have worked extremely hard and are now perfecting their work based on their critique. I am so impressed with the quality of the work they have produced and the skills they have developed this Expedition! Keep it up superstars!
