Today’s postcards went to Barrington and Sumit who both impressed me today with their confidence in sharing their learning with not only the class but also our visitors to school. We’re all really proud of you boys, well done!
Yesterday and today as part of our new Science Case Study, the children were finding out about the different states of matter. They worked collaboratively to create posters on the differences between solids, liquids and gases. We enjoyed debating whether slime was a liquid or a gas. What do you think it is?
Have you ever wondered which kind of sugar dissolves the fastest? Well today we carried out an experiment to find out. First we hypothesised then carried out a fair test and got some surprising results. Children have collaborated to carry out their experiments and looked at a scientific report which shows their results, learning lots of new language along the way. Do you know what matter, particles or states mean?
We have started a competition in 3LS to improve attendance. Here are this week’s winners for the biggest improvement. Well done Ara and Esmae! 100% since we started our competition and this improvement is already showing through in your beautiful writing. Keep it up! I wonder who will win this week!
Esmae worked really hard last week, particularly on her diary writing so really deserved this postcard. Not only has she been getting smart but she’s quick to volunteer and support her friends with their learning too. Well done Esmae!
Today I could not be prouder of 3LS, they have been an absolute pleasure to take on our trip. Not only were they excited and engaged about their learning but their behaviour and manners have been impeccable. It was lovely to hear many members of the public commenting on how fantastic the children’s behaviour was.
I’m so pleased everyone had a great day learning about the links Brodsworth has to the slave trade and I’d like to thank all the adults that joined us and made our day so enjoyable!
We have had a great day looking round the gardens and Hall at Brodsworth. Despite the rain, we tired the gardens completing our sculpture trail.
Then we followed the treasure hunt round the great houses learning about all the connections to the slave trade.
The hall is filled with amazing furniture, artwork and decorations and we were surprised at how much mahogany was used.We learnt some fascinating facts along the way too!
I am so proud of the behaviour of the children during the visit and especially how they didn’t let the rain dampen their spirits.
I’m sure the other classes will have an equally great time when they visit tomorrow!
Darwin has WOWed us with his amazing writing. His knowledge is fantastic and he took his time to draft and improve his work before producing a beautifully presented piece of writing. He even got a special head teacher award.
3LS were treated to a call with the fabulous Ant and Dec yesterday to learn about the importance of being ‘Propa Happy’. Afterwards we took 10 minutes with Ant and Dec to enjoy reading and drew our own happy pictures. The results were amazing.
