Valentine’s Disco

A reminder that Thursday (12th Feb) is our Valentine’s Disco.

Children in EYFS and KS1 can come to school in their Valentine’s outfit all day on Thursday.

Children who are attending the disco do not need to be picked up after school. They can be collected from classroom doors at the end of the disco at 4.30 pm.

Any questions, please speak to your class teacher.

World Book Day Thursday 5th March

At Plover, we will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 5th March.

As always, children are invited to come to school dressed as a book character, but in Year 3 and 4, we are linking the day to our current Expedition and we are asking for children to come dressed up as characters from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Please do not feel you have to go out and buy a costume, there are lots of fantastic ideas for inspiration at very low cost online.

I can’t wait to see all the fantastic creations.

Student Led Conferences

Our children would like to invite you to attend their Student-Led Conferences (SLCs), which will take place during the first two weeks of January. The conferences are scheduled for Thursday 8th, Tuesday 13th, and Thursday 15th January, with appointments available between 3.30pm and 6.00pm.

Please click on the link for the relevant class below, or scan the QR code, to book an SLC appointment.

During the conference, your child will share and discuss their learning and HoWLS from the Autumn term.

Should you have any questions, please contact your child’s class teacher.

KS1 Christmas Celebration

Children will bring home the letter with details about how to book tickets to the Chrsitmas Celebration on Tuesday, 9th December.

The show is limited to 2 tickets per family (across the 9.30 am or 2.15 pm performances) to allow us to try and maximise the viewing for the audience.

We would also like to make families aware the performances will be seated only. This is to allow staff to sign to children throughout the performances.

Each performance will have a maximum of approximately 120 tickets available. These will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis from Wednesday morning.

Thank you for your support

KS1 Odd Socks Day tomorrow

On Monday, 10th November, we are holding a KS1 ODD SOCKS Sponsored Walk!

The event will take place during the school day around the playground/field. We will be asking children to walk a mile with their friends!

All Children are welcome to wear odd socks (spotty, stripy, colourful socks etc).

All money raised will be split between our crew charity, ‘RSPCA’ and within our school community as part of KS1’s current expedition, ‘How will I be a Hero in my
Community?’

We are encouraging children to raise a small amount towards our fundraising projects as part of the sponsored walk. All children who raise money will receive a certificate.

Kind regards
