4G – Aeronautic Engineers!

As part of our learning about muscles, we worked together today on a special mission from NASA, to design exercise equipment for the astronauts in space to stop their muscles from wasting away.

We had some great suggestions, including the use of magnets to create a resistance for the muscles to work against. We definitely have some space engineers of the future in 4G!

Inspired by Learning

I love to hear how our expeditions inspire our children to go out and take their learning further.

I was thrilled today when Ashton brought a very special letter that he had received into school. Ashton wrote to Sir David Attenborough and got a lovely personalised reply back.

Ashton said that he told Sir David how much he enjoyed his programmes and that his favourite animal is a Blue Whale. Well done Ashton for taking the initiative and writing the letter.

We have had quite a few children visiting the dentist over the last few weeks. When Bradley went, he asked for photographs to compliment his learning – well done Bradley!

Re-hooking our English

Today we started a new cycle of English, having finished our diary writing cycle last week.

This English cycle is information texts about bones and muscles and we hooked ourselves in by creating these fantastic skeletons with cotton buds and card.

Darcy and Harper even had a go at animating their skeleton – great preparation for the final product. Well done girls for grappling with this, it is a great first attempt at stop motion animation.
