Sharing Stories

We are beginning to think ahead to next year and our Autumn Expedition in LKS2.

Do you know anybody (Grandparents, family members, friends or organisations) who would be willing to share their experiences of World War (at home or in the forces) with our children to help them with their learning?

If you know of anyone, please could you let Mrs Graves know, so that we can begin to plan ahead.

Thank you for your support,

Mrs Graves

3G Critiquing Sweets

We had the very enjoyable job last week, to critique mints, in preparation for the sweets we are going to design and make.

We found it very interesting how so many sweets with the same flavour – mint – could look and taste so differently from each other!

Charity Single Video Recording

The launch date for our charity single is getting ever closer, and today we have been busy recording the video – like all good pop stars do!

Geoff came into school and recorded Year 3 and 4 singing the song. I was so impressed, as it has been a while since we last sang it – but it sounded fantastic.

I can’t wait for everyone to hear it and get the chance to buy/download it!

Sugar, Slavery and Servants!

We have had a great day looking round the gardens and Hall at Brodsworth.
Despite the rain, we tired the gardens completing our sculpture trail.

Then we followed the treasure hunt round the great houses learning about all the connections to the slave trade.

The hall is filled with amazing furniture, artwork and decorations and we were surprised at how much mahogany was used.We learnt some fascinating facts along the way too!

I am so proud of the behaviour of the children during the visit and especially how they didn’t let the rain dampen their spirits.

I’m sure the other classes will have an equally great time when they visit tomorrow!
