5L had a brilliant PE session this morning. They warmed up by working in groups to stretch and make letters and numbers with their bodies. They then worked on their team building skills to map out a route to ‘cross the river’ while their team mates had to remember which cone was the correct one until they made it to safety.

We are really fortunate to have been asked to take part in the very first ‘DIP DAP’ awards – the Doncaster Illustrator Prize and the Doncaster Author Prize.
Continue readingA new half term meant new PE skills to learn. Moving on from hockey from last half term, year 6 had started their first PE lesson with team building activities and games. They are now moving onto OAA (Outdoor and Adventurous Activities) and they have already started off brilliantly with teamwork and communication to help each other. They worked in groups to solve problems and work together to complete the challenges set for them. It was a hilarious but enjoyable session as all children walked away with smiles on their faces with the teamwork and CREW they displayed today.
Super proud of year 6, well done!

Today, year 5 have been practicing their hockey and working on improving their passing skills. They had begun to start defending the ball and they are improving weekly. Well done year 5!

5M had such a lovely morning learning how to defend in hockey. They worked in small groups having a mini game to attack and defend. All children showed progress from last week and did a great job of controlling the ball. Keep it up!

Mrs Carter and I could not be prouder of this group of children. They were unhappy that there was litter on our school grounds! Thoughtfully, they took it upon themselves to ask for a carrier bag so that they could clean up what they could. How kind!
The children also wish to make a stand:
Don’t drop your litter or your scraps of toast. From our classroom windows, we often see gulls trying to eat pieces of toast that are far too big for them to swallow. Think about what could happen next when you drop your toast. Then pick it up and put it in the bin. Thank you.
