Super statistics!

6B have been grappling with statistics this week. They have worked extremely hard with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem solving activities. They have all worked so hard to ensure they achieved their ME and theyā€™ve really pushed themselves to articulate strong reasoning responses. I am proud as punch! Well done my lovely lot 🌟🌟

Inspired by Learning

I love to hear how our expeditions inspire our children to go out and take their learning further.

I was thrilled today when Ashton brought a very special letter that he had received into school. Ashton wrote to Sir David Attenborough and got a lovely personalised reply back.

Ashton said that he told Sir David how much he enjoyed his programmes and that his favourite animal is a Blue Whale. Well done Ashton for taking the initiative and writing the letter.

We have had quite a few children visiting the dentist over the last few weeks. When Bradley went, he asked for photographs to compliment his learning – well done Bradley!

Working collaboratively.

Our class have really shined in maths this week with some super work! The children have loved working collaboratively in our maths sessions when looking at decimal numbers. Very proud! Keep up the good work 5W!

Mega Maison!

I have to give Maison a shout out for his awesome recount! Maison listened to every piece of advice he was given during our peer critique session and he has produced a stunning piece of writing which he should be truly proud of! I am so pleased with his efforts! Well done matey!

Awesome acting this morning!

This morning, 6B were given the task to act out the scene where muggles see Harry and Ron driving the flying car in Harry Potter. Each group were assigned roles and given time to plan and prepare as part of our speaking and listening lesson. I am blessed with budding actors in my class as the performances were awesome! I canā€™t wait to get started on the writing to support this session! Well done my lovely lot!

Pyjamarama Day

We didnā€™t bother getting dressed on Friday, instead we came to school in our pyjamas – but it was all for a good cause.

We were in our pyjamas to raise the importance of sharing a bedtime story and to support the Book Trustā€™s quest to make sure every child gets a bedtime story.

Thank you to everyone that took part.

Thank you Doncaster Stories

Today we feel really lucky as Doncaster Stories, the Childrenā€™s University and the Doncaster Opportunity area have provided all KS2 children with bags and craft resources to take part in the Doncaster Reading Miles challenge!

All Children in years 3, 4, 5 and 6 are being encouraged to read at least 10 minutes a day and to work their way round their Doncaster map, earning stickers as they reach their destination.

Completing the map will count towards the Childrenā€™s University graduation and will earn the children certificates.

We are also going to have our own friendly competition in school.
