Well done Year 3/4

At the end of another busy week I would just like to say a few ‘thank yous’.

Firstly, to the tireless staff in Year 3/4, who have been working so hard to plan and deliver lessons online and in person, to support children emotionally and academically, to make phone calls and ensure everyone is safe and well and to guarantee that our expedition continues to capture the children’s imagination.

Secondly, to all you lovely supportive parents – we know many of you are juggling the roles of parent, teacher and worker all from home, trying to sort out IT problems and encourage children to learn, even when they are reluctant.

And finally, to the the children of year 3 and 4 who continue to brighten our days both in person and online. It has been a real pleasure seeing how much enthusiasm they have had for their learning and the positive attitudes they have had. They have been supportive of each other and resilient to the difficulties of trying to learn when videos keep buffering or they can’t write on a document.

Well done guys, it is a real team effort and through these challenges we will grow stronger.

From a very proud Phase Leader

Friday Feeling and Thank you :)

It was lovely to see lots of KS1 crew celebrating and enjoying their Plover Praise this afternoon, by dancing, singing and playing a few party games!

Well done for all your hard work and efforts this week… stay safe and enjoy your weekends. Remember to still send photos to share what fun you get up to over the weekend.

One final appreciation and shout out to all our KS1 parents (superhero’s) who are continuing to support, cooperate and engage with us all and your children with their online learning. You are doing amazing and should be proud!

See you all on Monday.

E-Safety Poster Winner!

Thank you to everyone for entering your posters for the e-safety competition. There have been some excellent, creative entries. It has been very hard to judge! We have decided to give a small prize for the best entry in each class because it has been so hard to choose.

The 1M winner is…

Peyton! Well done Peyton. We can see the time and effort you have put in to giving us all a really important message.

There is a yoyo prize in class for you when we are next able to be together.

Pride of Plover Winner – Roscoe!

A massive congratulations and a huge happy birthday to our Pride of Plover winner this week… Roscoe!

It is thoroughly deserved for your continued hard work and accessing of remote learning whilst at home. Creating and making some awesome crafts linked to our expedition. But best of all, for the improved amounts of writing you have been producing for English and phonics – keep it up buddy and I look forward to seeing that brilliant writing when we are back in school.

Great Fire of Plover… I mean London!

Over the last week, children in school have been making crafts to replicate houses similar to those on the streets of London in 1666.

This afternoon (with no rain or snow in sight) but a slight breeze… we investigated how quickly the fire spread to show what this would have been like on a mass scale during 17th Century!

Check out the video below to see (a small) London burning!

Pride of Plover

This week our Pride of Plover goes to Oliver!

Oliver has demonstrated persevering skills when working in both English and Maths this week and has been proud of his efforts. Everyday Oliver has put 100% effort into his work and enjoyed challenging himself. Keep it up Oliver!

Super start to Poetry from 3T and 3L!

An amazing start to poetry this week and making our own rhyming couplets! We worked in pairs to identify the rhyming words in our poem before thinking of our own rhyming words and writing our own rhyming couplets. The children really enjoyed this activity and were excited to build up their own poem. We have had some fantastic poetry from both the children working in school and online! Well done everyone!

Shout outs!

Well done Year 4, what a fantastic week of learning we have had this week. I am really pleased to see so many of you engaging online.

My shout outs today go to Alfie (4G) for a fantastic pop up earthquake, thank you for sharing that with me and Anez (4L) for trying really hard to achieve green standard on her maths entry ticket.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and I will see you all on Monday.
