Making musical patterns

As part of our expedition learning we have been musicians today. We played the drums exploring the different sounds that they made. We copied and created our own repeating patterns and rhythms.

Well done to Paisley and Oscar who were able to continue the patterns they started at the same speed.

We Care Wednesday Crew

Meet our new worry monster in Year 1 – in crew this morning Crew Jobber, Crew Meade and Crew Newton all came up with suggestions to name her! Then we had a bit of time to do things that make us feel happy in school šŸ™‚

Outstanding work

A huge well done to Ivanna who got an appreciation from Mrs Ogle today for her amazing writing. Ivanna wrote the most beautiful sentence using all the sounds she could hear and remembered to use a capital letter and full stop.

Well done Ivanna!

Hockey Stars!

Thank you 5T, I have really enjoyed my afternoon playing hockey with you all! We had never picked up a hockey stick before this afternoon but you would never know! You were able to hold your sticks properly, have a go at passing the ball, dribbling and shooting at goal! I am looking forward to PE next week already #LovePlover

Posters in English – Subtraction in maths

Y1 have been learning about their new text Rosa Parks, which links very closely to our expedition being a real life hero and is also relevant during Black History month.

We discussed the features of a poem and then the children went and created their own Rosa Parks wanted posters. Which they then presented in the glorious sunshine!

In maths today we started learning subtraction by partitioning the whole.
