Comic Relief – Wear something Red!

Collaboration, Prediction and Infering

In 1M today, we revealed our new key text for our case study 3 expedition ‘The Tin Forest’. The children enjoyed making the front cover puzzle, sharing their predictions about what the story might be about. Then discussing what the author is wanting us to think when reading it! #LovePlover

Superstar readers

Congratulations to Anna who is 1Ms superstar of the week trophy winner for her continued character growth and hard work in reading and writing.

Shout out to Ruben and Almina who have been working hard also with their reading at home – keep it up! #LovePlover

We are artists!

For our current expedition case study, we are being artists. Yesterday, we went outside to have a go at creating a jellyfish using recycled materials and plastics. Despite battling with the wind, class 1N were super! They worked hard and collaboratively as a team to complete this, in preparation for our final products.

We care Wednesday

Today during crew we looked at animals. We chose an animal from the slides to help use decide which animal we would be and why. We then went outside and had some fun and played some crew games. #loveplover

Maths is fun!

We have been exploring fractions and how to show 1/2 and 1/4 with cake, which the children loved. They all worked so hard during the whole lesson, so we finished it off with a slice of chocolate cake each.

Minnie and Rayyan then took their learning further and during afternoon play, they explored shapes and fractions with the chalk. 10 crew coins girls!! 👍🏼

Superstar Readers!

Well done to our year 2ā€™s Elijah, Peyton and Brooke! They are accelerated readers. Miss Lister was blown away when she tested them – well deserving of a postcard, plover praise card and a dip in the bag! All three children read regularly at home and work super hard in school and it really pays off. We are so proud of you!

Recyclable Artists

We are artists and todayā€™s collaborative task in expedition was to use plastic bottles, lids, bags and other types of materials (rubbish) to do some art attack. The children worked well with the colours they could find to make a clown fish with white stripes and an orange tail. #LovePlover

Expedition, Halving and Big Talk

1M have been working hard today building back ground knowledge about our final case study and final product – recyclable art.

In maths we were getting smart by working out what half of numbers, objects and quantities.
This afternoon children have had a Big Talk about personal safety. Then enjoyed a fun PE lesson! #LovePlover
