Our scary superstars immersed themselves into the monster mash up, played zombie land tag, musical ghosts, as well as making chocolate sprinkled apples! The children also enjoyed the delicious party food, pizza, crisps, buns and treats – yum!
Thank you parents for your continued support. #LovePlover
Today in maths we looked at adding together 3 one digit numbers! For example 3+5+7=. First we looked to see if we could find two numbers to make ten. We used a tens frame to help us! I wonder if anybody can make their own tens frame at home and show their adult how we add together 3 one digit numbers?
Then, in English we began our plan for our final write. Some of us planned out loud by speaking in full sentences. I was super impressed! We are going to be writing a character description about Rosa Parks over the next couple of days.
In P.E we practised dribbling basket balls. We even practiced shooting into the hoop!
Please remind your child that they must put their reading record and book in the box in their class. This is so that Mrs Jobber and Mrs Abbiss can change it on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. If it’s in their bags, it can’t be changed!
Also remember we have our Halloween party on Thursday after school, get those costumes ready and hand in your £2 to me.
I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. We are already getting excited for our Halloween party on Thursday! We spent our plover praise Friday making decorations. Children who normally go to club can either go home first and get changed or stay and we can help them get changed into their outfits. The party will be 4 till 5. Remember to bring in your £2 if you haven’t already and hand to me.
See you tomorrow for our spooky last week before half term! #LovePlover
It was brilliant to celebrate our crew Plover Praise Postcard winners in assembly this morning – we are blessed to have such kind, hard working and amazing children in KS1! Well done to Emmanuel, Julianna, Samuel, Ralph, Luke, Skyla, Miksang, Roman and Ryley. #LovePlover
Well done to Lilly-Grace who won 1st place and has won two cinema tickets. Charlie won second place but Ethan (his brother ) is pictured. Charlie won a box of Dunkin donuts and Alec won a popcorn and chocolate sweet box! We hope you enjoy your prizes and we hope you enjoyed the yummy American dinner!
Just a polite reminder that if your child goes to club on a Thursday night they still need to pay the £2 if they want to go to the film night tomorrow. There will be lots of treats and goodies, it’s going to be a brill night so please pass your £2 to your class teacher. #LovePlover
I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend. We’ve been looking at number bonds to 20 in maths and today we looked at subtraction. We used cubes and hoops and had whiteboards to make number sentences to represent what we did. We started with our whole which is 20 and took some away to create two parts! Have a look…
See if you can show your adults at home what a part part whole model looks like. It could be using pencils, sweets, coins! Can you write the number sentences? I’d love to see and there might be some extra crew coins in it for you!
This afternoon we continued our expedition learning. We looked at uploading to blogs so stay tuned for some blog posts!
Just a short one today but see you all tomorrow and have lovely evenings!
Plover invite you all to our year group spooky Halloween discos on Thursday 14th October. Children can come dressed up in costumes and they will be given Halloween sweet treats and party food fora a £2 entry fee.
