Next week we are going to be learning about old toys including old teddies in F2. Please can you send photos of any old toys that you might have. If we can look at them in school that would be great. We will keep them safe in the cupboard. Thank you
Today we have been so lucky to receive books from Doncaster Stories and the National Literacy Trust.
We have lots of beautiful books in school, but these books are extra special, because the talk in different languages.
We have a selection of beautiful picture books in Polish/English, Romanian/English, Nepali/English and Arabic/English, but not only are they lovely to look at, with the use of a special pen, the story is read aloud in either English or the alternative language.
This will be a super resource to share not only with our children who speak English as an additional language, but also with our children who find it challenging to read texts.
I look forward to seeing how our children respond to them.
The teddy dressing up in EYFS will be postponed in light of the passing of Her Majesty the Queen. We feel that this is the right thing to do as a mark of respect. We know that children will be disappointed but we will reschedule and let you know the new date as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.
We will instead learn about the life of the Queen and how she served our country.
EYFS children can come to school dressed as a bear if they wish. They could wear something with a bear on it. They could have their face painted as a bear.
We will be making bear masks and ears in school so don’t feel that your child has to dress up.
Just a reminder that parent meetings for new to F2 are next week on Tuesday and Wednesday. Children will either be in school for the full day on Thursday or Friday and all children will be in from Monday 5th. If you can’t remember which day your child is in or when your meeting is then please email me. [email protected] Please bring wellies, waterproofs and pumps with you to the meeting and make sure that they are named. Thank you Mrs Price
Here is a beautiful video of F2W singing ’Proud’ today. You have all made me so incredibly proud this year and I wish you all the very best as you continue your school journey into year 1. Keep working hard, getting smart and being kind, I will miss you all.
The children have settled back into F2 really well. They made a treasure map, drones and drew maps. This afternoon we went on our own treasure hunt outside. The children collaborated together really well.
This morning we have been pirates! We have created treasure maps to follow, made our own telescopes and used bee bots to practice following directions. We then gave directions to guide Pip, to find the buried treasure on our island.
Almina has been amazing this week! She has worked really hard with her learning, supported the new friends in our class and had lovely manners. Well done Almina.
