Plover Praise Postcards

Well done Shayen and Lola for achieving Plover Praise Postcards today.

Shayen has completed an excellent Viking diary entry in English and Lola has put great effort into her learning today, contributing so much in Expedition lessons.

Well done guys, keep it up!

More fabulous Home-Learning

Another shout out goes to Paul and Shayen, as they have been so busy at home again completing great home-learning.

Paul researched Viking houses and created his own high status house complete with vegetable patch.

Shayen researched Viking facts and translated them into Viking runes – very creative!

Well done both of you, you have both made so much effort, you should be very proud of yourselves!

Fun in PE

Year 3 enjoyed PE today, practicing and perfecting their throwing and catching skills. They demonstrated some fantastic teamwork and communication skills.

Don’t forget to bring your PE kit every Monday and leave it at school until Friday. Thanks!

Halloween Film Night

Just a polite reminder that if your child goes to club on a Thursday night they still need to pay the £2 if they want to go to the film night tomorrow. There will be lots of treats and goodies, it’s going to be a brill night so please pass your £2 to your class teacher. #LovePlover

3G Plover Praise

Morris has contributed so well to everyone’s learning today, with great suggestions about what we can include in our Viking Diary!

Well done, Morris , you are working hard!

A Great Week for LKS2

It has been another week of great learning from LKS2 this week.

We have been working hard on our final write in English and I have seen some excellent draft Viking Diary Entries from Year 3 and Year 4 pupils. We will be completing them next week and I can wait to see the final beautiful work.

To prepare for the write, we started the week in the role of Vikings and Monks, using our imagination and acting skills to ‘hotseat’ questions and answers about what it was like during the Viking raids. It was great to see some of the responses.

In maths we are still working on our number and place value skills – the crucial element of maths learning and Year 4 took on the challenge of rounding numbers.

As we come towards the end of our first case study, we have been finding out why the Vikings left Britain and whether they left anything behind. You don’t have to look very far to see an example of one thing they left behind -in Armthorpe!
