Good morning Key Stage One. Today you will be writing your diary. You will need yesterday’s plan to help you with this.
Here is an example to help you if you would like to see how to write your diary.
When you are finished, please email to [email protected], and Miss Lotysz will critique your work for you.
Dear diary,
The most exciting thing happened today. Me and mummy were about to have a tea party with cakes when the doorbell rang. We didn’t know who it was. When we got to the door, it was a tiger! He came in and started eating all of our food! He ate sandwiches, cakes and all the tins and packets in the cupboard. Then he drank all of our drinks and so much water that there was nothing left in the tap! We were very surprised when he left! We told daddy everything that had happened and he took us out for tea. I enjoyed sizzling sausages and ice-cream. On the way home we bought some tiger food. I am excited to see if he comes tomorrow. What a wonderful day!

Good morning Key Stage One. Today we are planning for our diary. First, here is an example diary to help you understand what your diary could look like.
Dear diary,
The most exciting thing happened today. Me and mummy were about to have a tea party with cakes when the doorbell rang. We didn’t know who it was. When we got to the door, it was a tiger! He came in and started eating all of our food! He ate sandwiches, cakes and all the tins and packets in the cupboard. I enjoyed sizzling sausages and ice-cream. On the way home we bought some tiger food. I am excited to see if he comes tomorrow. What a wonderful day!
To help me organise my thoughts, I will make a list about what I want to talk about in my diary. When I write my diary tomorrow, I will use this list and turn each word or phrase (a few words) to support my thinking. You could use your story map to help with this.
1st – Mummy and me were having tea
2nd – The doorbell rang. Tiger!
3rd – Cakes eaten
4th – The drinks were drank
5th – Tiger goes home
6th – Tea
7th – Tiger food
8th – will he come back?
Tomorrow, we will write our diary. Today you need to only concentrate on the plan. You can email your plan to [email protected] who can check it for you.

Well done on another fantastic day of learning Key Stage One. I hope you’ve had time to have a bit of fun in the sunshine. Don’t forget to share any pictures of your expedition learning or Lego challenge from today, I love to see how creative you have been.
Here are your answers in today’s maths, please let me know how you got on.
Bonds to 100
5 + 5 = 10
50 + 50 = 100
7 + 3 = 10
70 + 30 = 100
4 + 6 = 10
40 + 60 = 100
9 + 1 = 10
90 + 10 = 100
Add ones
25 + 3 = 28
34 + 6 = 40
47 + 1 = 48
52 + 7 = 59
63 + 9 = 72
77 + 5 = 82
14 + 9 = 23
Subtract ones
36 – 4 = 32
52 – 1 = 51
29 – 7 = 22
78 – 8 = 70
63 – 7 = 56
94 – 6 = 88
41 – 2 = 39
Add tens
54 + 10 = 64
47 + 10 = 57
68 + 20 = 88
47 + 30 = 77
90 + 10 = 100
21 + 60 = 81
17 + 80 = 97
Subtract tens
74 – 10 = 64
56 – 10 = 46
20 – 20 = 0
36 – 30 = 6
95 – 40 = 55
61 – 50 = 11
87 – 70 = 17
Add two digit numbers
21 + 13 = 34
34 + 24 = 58
58 + 12 = 70
10 + 29 = 39
47 + 25 = 72
69 + 26 = 95
74 + 22 = 96
Subtract two- digit numbers
25 – 15 = 10
36 – 21 = 15
54 – 23 = 31
67 – 25 = 42
34 – 25 = 9
74 – 37 = 37
46 – 38 = 8
Add three 1-digit numbers.
5 + 7 + 3 = 15
8 + 4 + 2 = 14
4 + 4 + 5 = 13
2 + 3 + 0 = 5
1 + 6 + 8 = 15
9 + 7 + 5 = 21
8 + 6 + 4 = 18
Reasoning
Using your knowledge of number bonds, find the different possibilities.
____ + _____ = 50
20 + 30 = 50
30 + 20 = 50
40 + 10 = 50
10 + 40 = 50
0 + 50 = 50
50 + 0 = 50
True or False?
These four calculations have the same answer.
4 + 3 + 2
3 + 4 + 2
2 + 3 + 4
2 + 4 + 3
True, they all equal 9.
Trues or False?
These four calculations have the same answer.
5 – 1 – 2
2 – 5 – 1
5 – 2 – 1
2 – 1 – 5
False
Reasoning
Miss Lotysz is counting forwards in tens… 23, 33, 43, 53
Miss Topliss is counting backwards in tens… 93, 83, 73
Miss Lister thinks the next number for both of them is 63. Is she correct?
Yes
Problem solving
