We are speakers!

Our new writing cycle focuses on persuasion and discussion. We have been discussing whether governments should spend billions on space travel. A shout out goes to William and Jasmine who spoke passionately about how the money should go towards helping people who are in poverty and also others who have suffered during COVID. On the other side, Nishal felt we should invest in Space because it would advance humans. I was impressed with the thoughtful and mature ideas that came from the children. Awesome Year 6!

We can debate!

The power of persuasion… Should we be spending millions on space travel? Today, we watched a debate which answered this question. We were then able to use precise and specific word choices in our own short yet persuasive arguments which gave our views.

Postcard Praise!

Ellie and Beth have worked incredibly hard today. They wrote a short persuasive argument to put their views about spending millions on space travel across to the rest of the class. Well done girls!

Dersim’s awesome leading of her own learning! 🌟

Dersim challenged herself in maths this morning. She led her own learning by using our teacher model video to support her working through fluency, reasoning and problem solving questions. By using the teacher model, she was able to identify her misconception and work through it to get to the correct answer. What a superstar! 10 crew coins!

Shout Out to Readers!

I just wanted to give a shout out to the children in KS2 and staff (Mrs Thomson and Miss Kier), who have been staying after school to do reading club.

It has really been picking up and thanks to parents for supporting the children to attend the club.

Keep up the good work guys!
