Tomorrow parents can join Year 6 on the field at 1:15pm. Children will be having their dinner as normal and then they will play their rounders match and finish off the day with a bbq. We can’t wait to see you all to celebrate the end of SATs!
We have had a great day looking round the gardens and Hall at Brodsworth. Despite the rain, we tired the gardens completing our sculpture trail.
Then we followed the treasure hunt round the great houses learning about all the connections to the slave trade.
The hall is filled with amazing furniture, artwork and decorations and we were surprised at how much mahogany was used.We learnt some fascinating facts along the way too!
I am so proud of the behaviour of the children during the visit and especially how they didn’t let the rain dampen their spirits.
I’m sure the other classes will have an equally great time when they visit tomorrow!
A huge shout out to Paula Windle (Lola’s mum) who is kindly organising a raffle to raise funds for Year 6 leavers. Lots of prizes have been coming in. Tickets will be on sale from Friday 13th May should you wish to purchase any.
Also, a huge shout out to Laura Davies (Bethannie’s mum) who has also been raising money through guess the teddies name.
These children have consistently come into school every morning for the past few months to do additional learning in preparation for their SATs. We are so proud of them so today’s breakfast was a little different and we had McDonald’s!
In 2K, we have been looking at aerial views of Plover School.
We identified the different classes and rooms in school and drafted our own aerial maps of the building!
We then went for a walk around school to check we hadn’t missed out any rooms and had them all in the right places on the map. Some of us accidentally put a classroom in the toilets on the map! Oops!! We changed that on our maps quickly!
Well done to my SATs revision group today. Some of you could calculate fractions of amounts quicker than I could. Tomorrow you will need to find percentages of amounts faster than I can. I wonder who is up for the challenge? I know William is, as he is revising this skill right now in preparation for tomorrow.
