Great Home Learning.

Shayen has spent his time at home doing extra learning about our dinosaur expedition. He has drawn a a dinosaur shape onto a piece of wood and then expertly used a saw to cut out the tricky shape. He still has all of his fingers as well! He then carefully painted the dinosaur and added little details. Great work Shayen!

Pride of Plover Winner

Last week’s Pride of Plover winner was so happy when she was given her award – I honestly thought that she was going to burst into tears.

Katrina Groom was our winner.  She worked so hard all week long; just like she has done every day since September.  Katrina is one of the most caring young ladies I have ever taught.  She always makes sure that Treasure – one of the boys in our class who has both hearing and visual impairment – is safe and securely seated when he is in class with us.  She has been pushing herself with her knowledge of multiplication facts and is now beginning to see progress in her achievements.  I hope this continues as it is really pleasing to see the pride she has in herself.  Well done Katrina – I’m so proud of you too!

Pride of Plover.

A massive well done to this week’s Pride of Plover winner for 2P, Darwin!

He has shown great determination to improve himself this week and this has shown in the way that he asks questions to make sure he has understood his learning. He is always looking at ways to challenge himself so that he can get smart. The home learning is also proof of his enthusiasm for learning.

Well done Darwin!

Yellow T shirt winner – hard at work again!!

It gave me great pleasure to announce our yellow t shirt winner was Kyeran this week. He was nominated by his friends for being kind to others, for working hard in lessons and always being smart by making the correct decisions both in class and out on the playground. I fully agreed with his friends as Kyeran can always be seen working hard, talking about his learning to his partner or playing respectfully with his friends.

Well done Kyeran – keep up the good work!

Octonaut maths

We had lots of fun exploring different ways that we can make 10. We learnt that the amount stayed the same but we could make it in different ways. We said the equations using plus/add as well as equal to. We did all this whilst playing with Octonauts which were swimming in water in fish tanks.

Following this, some of the children wrote their number bonds.

A shout out goes to Charlie who went on to explore the different ways that he could make 10. He predicted that there would be 9 ways. “I think there are 11 ways to make 10.”

Well done Charlie.

We have had fun in Y1/2C Recounting our text

We used drama to really unpick our text Stone Girl, Bone Girl.  It took a while for the children to really ‘let go’ and enjoy taking part but when they did they were amazing!  Think my terrible acting spurred them on 😂.  Great to hear the discussions and how well everyone could recount the event

4G Pride of Plover

A big congratulations to Shashank in 4G. His consistent hard work and dedication has led to him him producing a very high standard of work that he can be very proud of.

I look forward to seeing you in the yellow t-shirt next week Shashank!

Well done
