Year 3’s Wonderful Day as a Viking

What a great we have had today! We have learnt so much about how the Vikings lived and we have begun to realise they were not just the raiders that most of the stories would have us believe!

We have lived our day as a Viking – farming, guarding, baking and making goods to trade.

After the last couple of years, it has been brilliant to be out on a Field Trip again and Murton Park has really helped to bring history to life for us, and from the number of children that said they had had the best day EVER, I think it is a day that will live in our memories for a long, long time.

Here’s a sneak preview of the day, but more will follow!

GPS Activities in Y5

Year 5 have enjoyed a session today recapping past and present tense verbs. We have practiced this skill ahead of our diary writing at the end of Cycle 1. Keep working hard Year 5, you have been nothing short of superb this week! I am so impressed with your learning behaviours and have felt very proud of you when other adults have noticed this too. #LovePlover

Our birthday celebrations

We have been talking about what we celebrate. We used our photos for Think Pair Share. We noticed that lots of us liked cake but we had different celebrations.

This is our display of learning.

Thank you to parents and careers for sending in photos.

Birthday cards

This week we have been talking about how we celebrate our birthdays. Today the children have enjoyed making their own birthday cards.

Bar charts

Today we have been making bar charts of our favourite party foods and cake flavours.

Murton Park

What a lovely day we had on Monday at Murton Park and we were very lucky with the weather! The children were really well behaved and all received 10 crew coins when they got back to school.

Sharing a story

The children were very excited yesterday to take books home to share with their grown-ups. I am looking forward to hearing about their stories next Tuesday in crew.
