Wonderful World Book Day

We had a great day celebrating books at Plover. There were all sorts of characters walking around from Gangsta Granny to Mr and Mrs Twit; Mary Poppins and Wonky Donkey; Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf in Grandma’s clothing- plus lots, lots more!

We had lots of potato photos for the potato character competition and some great reviews on the Padlet – check out the books that have been recommended – they are bound to make you LOL!

Our Masked Reader competition was very popular – well done to Harper in 4G for correctly identifying all 20 of the Masked Readers

We have lots of photos of the day so check out our World Book Day Website for many more: https://sites.google.com/ploverschool.co.uk/ploverworldbookday2021/home

World Book Day

Wow! I’ve been totally blown away by all of the awesome costumes and efforts that you have gone to today. A massive well done to you all! You have submitted brilliant ideas for book covers and costumes as well as even dressing up at home. We hope you’ve had a great day scavenger hunting and exploring books!

Pride of Plover

Our Pride of Plover winner this week is someone who has shown a great determination and resilience in their learning – especially this week. She is becoming much more confident in herself and is contributing much more frequently to learning discussions. Her desire to want to improve has been awesome this week. Well done Vittoria!

Fabulous Flames!

In KS1 yesterday our Expedition lesson was about how to draw fire and flames, we wanted to create fabulous 2D artwork. I think you will agree, the children have done an amazing job.

Darcy worked really hard on keeping his colouring in the lines, he thought carefully about the shape and brightness of his colours.
Ellis experimented with watercolours.
Talliah looked carefully at the models – look at her work in progress – her eye for detail is super.
Vittoria’s looking proud… look how she has carefully drew and coloured her flame. I love the sparks coming off it.

We are Musicians!

Thank you so much to everyone for sharing their learning. We have really enjoyed watching what you have been up to!

We would like to give a huge shout out to everyone for taking part in the Music session from our expedition learning. We have chosen just a few examples of your amazing work below. Well done to Darwin, Johnny, Scarlett, Isabelle and Shayen for your unbelievable percussion work for our rhyme.

Shayen, this is yours for your learning today!

We are having problems converting and uploading the videos for Scarlett, Darwin and Isabelle but as soon as we have solved it, we will add them here. Sorry to keep you waiting for them!

The Masked Reader

Take a look at our World Book Day website! Children have looked at the website during Crew this morning. We currently have a lot of excitement in school as children ask one another, ‘Who’s that behind the book?’ Each day leading up to World Book Day, 4 masked readers will be added to the site with clues to their identity. Can you guess who is behind each book?

Are you feeling inspired? Why not send a picture of yourself, with your face hidden behind a book, to your teacher. You could try other ways to disguise your identity too! You can also write your own clues to try and help your peers work out who is hiding!

The end is near!

Good morning 2P for what is the start of our last week learning apart (hopefully!).

I really can’t wait to get the whole class back together again and catch up with you all. This week needs just one more really big push to keep the learning going and keep engaged with everything that has been planned. I know you can all do it!

This week is mainly focussed on creating a poem for the final product of our expedition. You can even begin researching poetry based on the Fire of London if you want to pinch a bit of a head start!

Have a great day.

Pride of Plover

The winner this week was as difficult to choose as always.

Our winner was someone who has shown great determination and resilience in their learning. They have only recently rejoined the school but they have already shown how keen they are to impress. They have a clear passion to want to do their best learning all of the time and they are not afraid to think of ways to improve what they have done. This week’s winner is…

Barrington!

Congratulations!
