Museum Visit

What a superb visit from Doncaster Museum this morning! The children got so much from this well planned out session from the museum, who had tailored the workshop exactly to our guiding question and to the learning targets we have been focusing on this term. We can’t say thank you enough for this! The children had lots of objects that would have been found on a train to explore – what a treat when we usually aren’t allowed to touch very old and precious objects! I personally took a shine to the butter stamp. I wonder what your favourite item was? It was fascinating to gain such an insight into how the collection at Doncaster Museum was discovered and consider what impact the rail industry had on Doncaster, both on the town and their people. (Pictures to follow – I am having some trouble with getting them onto the blog! I am so sorry!) #LovePlover

Purple’s the word!

Towards Christmas, we will be holding a coloured hamper raffle to raise funds. Every class will produce their own hamper for this raffle and we are asking for donations. 6H have the colour purple. Any donations would be greatly appreciated and could be anything from chocolate to socks – as long as they are purple! 😁

Thank you in advance for your support.

Pride of Plover

What a week this young man has had! He has blown me away and is so proud of himself – rightly so, William! Wear that shirt with pride next week and let’s build that confidence a little more together!

Playtime Perseverance and Teamwork

Thursday’s playtime was quite honestly the best in my career so far – and let’s be honest, I’ve seen my fair share of them at Plover! It was fabulous to see the children devise their own game which involved working together to be successful. I wonder if they will beat their score of 7 next week? I also wonder if they will be brave enough and silly enough to let me join in! 😉

Product Preparation

Year 6 have worked collaboratively across classes this week, busying themselves with the production of the content for their final product. They worked so hard and blew away those who came to check-in on our learning. I hope everyone is incredibly proud of themselves. I know I am proud of everyone!

Groovy graphs

Year 5 having been drawing line graphs this morning and plotting data that links to our expedition. They were given figures about the different amounts of steam engines built 1948-1953.
