Year 5ā€™s HoWLs surprise treat!

Our gorgeous year 5ā€™s were so excited when the saw the ice cream van pull up and they realised it was their surprise for their awesome HoWL scores! I am so proud of them. Weā€™ve had a phase push on our HoWLs and year 5 have smashed it! They have all worked hard, got smart and been kind so they deserved a little treat! Take a look at their happy faces!

Non Uniform Day Wednesday – COME ON ENGLAND!

Hi all,

With England’s fantastic result in the Quarter Finals on Saturday. We here at Plover are going to show our support by having a England themed non-uniform day on Wednesday, as England are playing in the Semi-Final on Wednesday evening!

If you don’t have England kits, don’t worry, you can wear other football shirts, PE/sports clothes or something red and white to represent England!

Could it finally be coming home?

Our virtual Harry Potter lesson from Warner Brothers studios!

Years 5&6 children are so lucky that Warner Brother studios agreed to deliver a Harry Potter lesson to us online. The children are learning all about script writing and film making. Theyā€™ve been given lots of tips and tricks to help them be successful in future script writing. How exciting!

Please don’t forget to wear a cossie too!

Just to let all Year 5 parents know that on Thursday the children will need to bring a costume, towel and a set of light weight clothes they can swim in AS WELL!

They will need to wear their swimming costume then either a t-shirt and light weight bottoms or a set of light weight pyjamas. I would also give your child a carrier bag to double wrap their clothes in as they don’t usually wring them out very well.

I am stressing the costume part as one year

a child forgot their costume, got their pjs wet then as they climbed out the water their pjs bottoms were dragged down by the water! Needless to say it was a toss up who was more embarrassed – them or the staff!

Competition Time!

The Junior Rangers from the Friends of Sandall Park are holding a competition to help to decorate and promote their notice board in Sandall Park. All you need to do is to create your own nature themed poster or nature themed poem and hand it in to your teachers before the deadline on 2nd July. There are prizes for the winning entries and your work will be displayed in the park! If you would like to find out any more information about the Junior Rangers, or would like to register your child with the group, please email [email protected].

Have fun!
