Swimming information.

I’ve been asked by lots of children about when swimming is starting. We have had confirmation from the providers that lessons will start in April 2022. Nearer the start of the lessons I will send out more information but the type of swimming costume for girls needs to be a one piece costume in black or dark navy blue. Boys need to wear trunks and loose swimming shorts are not allowed. I thought having this information would give parents more time to buy these items.

We are musicians!

Today we have had an incredible afternoon using our bodies as musical instruments. We have been able to create pulse, beat and rhythm with our hands, feet and voices. Well the children could anyway – my multitasking skills were not quite as effective as theirs! Well done guys I’m super proud of you all.

We are musicians!

Today we have been using our bodies as instruments to create pulse, beat and rhythm ready for our third case study. We had a blast finding the pulse to a different range of music. We also recapped key musical terms such as timbre and structure.

Crew Meade Superheroes learn

Children learnt about the importance of their HOWLs in crew this morning and showed how they will achieve their ME (Minimum Expectation) by using their super powers.

1M superheroes then explored and represented numbers in different ways. The children were immersed in their English as they tasted, felt, smelt and described biscuits coming up with some fantastic adjectives. Before using icing to write words which included our new phonics graphemes!
Fab day!

Super 2B!

I loved seeing your superhero costumes today 2B! We’ve had a fab day. Remember tomorrow is dress as a real life superhero, think doctors/nurses/firefighters/soldiers. We have a very special guest coming in to talk to us tomorrow, he’s a real life hero from Doncaster and we are very honoured to have him in school!

We will be changing reading books on Mondays/ Wednesdays and Fridays. I’m sorry children and parents I forget to send them home today! I will put a reminder on my desk because they definitely need to go home this weekend!

Shout out to all the children who have earned postcards so far this term! I’ve also made a pledge to the children (because I keep getting names wrong) that every time I get a name wrong I will make a tally and when I get to 28 I will get some sweets! But they need to be super smart in class otherwise I remove a point. Be on your best behaviour tomorrow 2B, I can’t wait to see your costumes!

Shout outs!

A massive well done to Shelby and Frazer on a fantastic day of learning, I have been very impressed with your dragon eye creations. Mrs Ogle even gave them one of her extra special smelly stickers!

Stargazing

Unfortunately, we have to postpone our stargazing session this evening. The weather is very much against us and come the end of the school day, rain and storms have been forecast. We were hoping it would blow over and clear up but unfortunately this doesn’t seem to be the case.

We will keep in contact via the school blog and emails and hope to have this event rearranged towards the back end of next week.

Kind regards

Mrs Haycock and Mrs Chapman
