Proud Postcard Winners

We had not one, not two but three very proud postcard winners today and each one well deserved.

Well done to Jerzie and Kiara for fantastic collaborative learning in maths. It was great to hear the girls talking and sharing their ideas.

Well done to Laci-Maee for her confidence and involvement in morning crew. It was great to hear how happy you felt today.

We are celebrating better world day on the 5th May!

We will be celebrating better world day on Thursday 5th May (a day early). We are asking children to come into school in blue or yellow and we are asking for voluntery contributions of 50p to raise money to send funds directly into Ukraine to support those in need.

We are also challenging children to take part in better world day by completing acts of kindness to make the world a better place and sharing these acts of kindness to myself- [email protected] so we can share all of the kind and wonderful things you get up to.

Thank you

-Miss Blakham

Little Big Book Club

This morning we shared a ā€˜book and a biscuitā€™ at our first ā€˜Little Big Book Clubā€™.

Five Year 3 children were lucky enough to be selected to take part in the initiative funded by the National Literacy Trust.

They have brought home their first book today and are very excited about receiving the other books over the next few weeks.

Miss Myers is so looking forward to sharing some great books!

Amazing Angles

Today we have been learning about angles. We have learnt about a special angle called a right angle. We looked around the classroom and found right angles all over the place. Can you find right angles in any unusual places?

Plover Postcard Winner

As you can see Sumit is a very proud and deserving winner of our Plover postcard. Today we have focused on excellent behaviour when moving around school. Sumit has been a fantastic role-model, walking sensibly and smartly around school and within class too.

Got a sweet tooth? You’ll love the LKS2 summer Expedition!

‘Serious about Sugar; Passionate about People’ is the Year 3 and 4 expedition for this term. Throughout the expedition, we will be investigating the question “Why is sugar NOT so sweet?” by being historians in our first case study, scientists in our second case study and by being designers in our final case study.

The children were quite excited when I told them that our final product was going to be a jar of sweets they were going to make themselves.

Letters have gone home this evening about our field trip in May to Brodsworth Hall. There is currently an exhibition at the hall that is directly linked to our first case study and it will be a great opportunity for the children to see with their own eyes, how their local area was so closely linked to significant events in history.

We have had a great start to the exhibition and the children were very good at identifying how seemingly unconnected objects were linked to our expedition and beginning to create decorations to immerse our classroom!

Introducing our new expedition

Today 3LS faced the challenge of working out our newest expedition title and guiding question.First we investigated lots of sweet clues around the room and had to work out what they had in common.

Next we had to unscramble words to discover our new title and guiding question. Can you remember what they are?
Why not visit our expedition website to find out more.
