Summer Term Dress Up as a Scientist Day

Well done to Crew Blackham for passing the most quizzes for the 2nd week running. A shout out goes to Crew Chapman for coming a very close second. However, I’m most impressed with Crew Topliss this week – they must have been reading lots and quizzing because they have managed to get into third place.
Awesome reading KS2! Keep going and remember every time you pass a quiz about the book you’ve just read, you will be in with a chance of winning a box of Dunkin Doughnuts. Remember, you have to read to win it!
It has been a week since World Book Day, and I thought it would be lovely to look back and remember what a great day it was.
The website has been updated with photographs, so head over there if you want to linger over the pictures a little longer.
But for a whistle-stop tour of the day, check out our video…..

Well done 3T, you’ve all attended school so well this week that we’ve won the £10 class cash! We need to think about what we would like to spend it on but if you all all come next week, we might end up with another £10! I’m super proud of you all for your hard work this week. #LovePlover
Well done Tommy. You’re our Pride of Plover. You always try your hardest but never make a fuss, you just get on quietly every day. I know every piece you hand me will be beautiful. Thank you for all your hard work and a big congratulations on being the yellow t shirt winner! #LovePlover
Congratulations to 6B, Crew Blackham, for passing the most quizzes on Accelerated Reader this week. A shoutout goes to 3L, Crew Lister, for moving up into second place after being third place for three weeks running.
Remember every time you pass a quiz you are in with a change of winning a box of Dunkin Doughnuts. You’ve got to read to be in it!

3T have been working collaboratively to produce a recreation of the piece, ‘The Great Wave’. Here’s their first draft and their critique. I’m really impressed by how they have made their critique specific and helpful, ready for their second draft tomorrow #LovePlover
Congratulations to 6C for passing the most quizzes last week, for the third week running. A shout out goes to 6H for moving into second place and 3L gets a shout out for being third place for the last four weeks.
Which class will be at the top of the league this Friday. Will 6C be knocked off? Will 3L move up into second or first place? Will a class from Year 5 or Year 4, move into the top 3 positions.
Keep reading and quizzing to help your class win the league. Don’t forget everytime you pass a quiz, you will be in with a chance to win a box of doughnuts.

We had a great day celebrating books at Plover. There were all sorts of characters walking around from Gangsta Granny to Mr and Mrs Twit; Mary Poppins and Wonky Donkey; Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf in Grandma’s clothing- plus lots, lots more!
We had lots of potato photos for the potato character competition and some great reviews on the Padlet – check out the books that have been recommended – they are bound to make you LOL!
Our Masked Reader competition was very popular – well done to Harper in 4G for correctly identifying all 20 of the Masked Readers
We have lots of photos of the day so check out our World Book Day Website for many more: https://sites.google.com/ploverschool.co.uk/ploverworldbookday2021/home

You have all worked so hard over the weeks that you have either worked from home or been in school. I hope you are feeling as proud of yourselves as I feel of you.
Our door opens at 8.40 and closes at 8.50. Pick up returns to 3pm.
Have a wonderful Sunday and see you tomorrow.
