Welcome LKS2! What’s happening this week?

What a great first day back! So many smiling faces – on both children and staff!

It was great to get the whole phase together for an assembly this afternoon – the first time I have been with my full phase for a very, very long time – and I was very impressed by the way children listened and shared their ideas.

We are having a ‘Getting to know you’ week this week, and tomorrow, children will spend the day in their crews, starting to create their new crew identity and getting to know their crew leader a little bit better.

Each year group has three crews and three crew leaders and we are lucky to have Mrs Danielska join the Year 3 crew and Mrs Carter join the Year4 crew as crew leaders. Children will start and end their day in their crews and crew leaders will be available at the end of the day to dismiss children from the Year 3 or Year 4 door, where the usually leave from.

On Thursday, we are holding our Sports day. Parents are welcome, please see Mr Meade’s blog post for more information.

On Friday it is our dress as a Viking day. We are launching our expedition “Coming to Doncaster – why then, why now?” with some physical and mental challenges and we will enjoy watching How to Train Your Dragon in the afternoon. Please don’t spend lots of money on dressing up outfits – there are lots of great ways to create a costume without lots of expense.

Just a reminder that we have our visit to Murton Park, York, on 13th and 15th September. please return you permission slips as soon as possible. The trip can be paid for through parent pay.

Finally, thank you for your patience at the end of the day when you are collecting your children. I know it is a little slow while we get to learn names and faces, but we need to make sure that the children are safe. I promise will get quicker.

If you have any questions, please speak to your class teacher or myself. Or if you prefer you can email me on [email protected].

Thank you for your support,

Mrs Graves

SPORTS DAY

Hi Plover Parents,

It has been fantastic to see so many children and staff back in school today for our first day back! 🙂

This Thursday 2nd September is KS1 and KS2 Sports day – a celebration for all the community to enjoy, heading into (hopefully) a smoother year!

Parents are INVITED and can access the school field from 9.15am. Chairs/benches will be out on the concrete for parents to sit and watch the track events.

There will be an ice-cream van on the playground for children to purchase an ice cream (with parents supervision) after their running races.

The sports day will look and run slightly different from previous sports days, however we just want it to be a positive and fun start to the year for all children to take part in! It will consist of track races, field events and fun activities.

9.30am-10.30am:

  • KS1 fun events
  • LKS2 track/running events
  • UKS2 field events

10.30am-11.30am:

  • LKS2 fun events.
  • UKS2 track/running evenKS1 field events

11.30am-12.30am:

  • UKS2 fun events.
  • KS1 track/running events
  • LKS2 field e

We ask for children to come in their PE kits and to wear an item of clothing which represents their CREW colour ed, yellow, blue). This may be difficult as your child may have changed crews and may not know their colour, so don’t worry their full PE kit is absolutely fine.

Any questions, please ask your class teacher or email Mr Meade on [email protected]

We look forward to seeing you all support your superstars!

Huge ‘Thank You’ 4G

I just wanted to say a very big thank you to all of you, the children and parents in 4G.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working with all of you this year, even though some of that time had to be online.

I am very proud of how enthusiastic you have been in your learning and how much you have grown.

I have been blown away by your kindness and thoughtfulness and very generous gift, but especially by the lovely comments in your cards.

I feel quite emotional to see you moving on to Year 5, but look forward to seeing how you continue to grow.

Have a restful holiday

Mrs Graves

Hello 3G

This is my first post for my new class 3G!

I am really looking forward to getting to know you better and I am sorry we can’t be in school to talk in person but here are some facts about me for now:

I have two children , Tom is at University in Lincoln studying science and Harry is about to go into Year 11 at school. Both boys love rugby and one of my favourite things to do is to watch them play in rugby matches.

I enjoy running and yoga and it is my plan to do more of both over the summer.

I like to go on holiday in this country and enjoy going to the Yorkshire Dales because of the great walks in the countryside.

I hope to find out more about you too – so why don’t you let me know what your favourite things are by emailing me: [email protected]

I am really looking forward to September, and I hope you are too.
