We have been using sources of evidence today, to see what the Vikings left behind and what was discovered in their capital city of Jorvik.

Crew Brown/Wood have had a wonderful day. Several children have gone above and beyond to achieved a 4 in their HOWLs for work hard, get smart and be kind.
Jakob, Caio and Riley are some of children who have really impressed me today with their sensible attitude and kindness. Well done boys and well done crew!

Today in English we have been hot seating as Vikings and monks. The children took on the roles as interviewers, vikings and monks and came up with answers to how they must have been feeling during the Lindisfarne raids.

It has been such a busy four weeks and I have been so impressed by the learning attitudes and behaviour of the children in LKS2.
I have seen great learning from children in Year 3 and 4 in all subjects and the home-learning that has been brought in has been amazing.
It was lovely to get together as a phase for a short phase crew this morning and lovely to award Frazer, Eva , Kiara, and Tim the Pride of Plover certificates – and it was even better to see them in their yellow T-Shirts later in the day.
Well done guys – keep up the great work and we look forward to more great learning next week!

🇺🇸 Thursday 7th October will be our American dinner day! We are asking children to come dressed in red, white and blue and join us on school dinners to try some yummy American style food🇺🇸
Every child who has a dinner on this day will be entered into a raffle to win either 2 tickets for the new Savoy theatre, a box of 12 Dunkin donuts or a sweet treat box including popcorn and chocolate! 🎟 🍩🍿
We canāt wait to try the pancakes and honey 😋
We have been looking at sources of evidence in 4L, to try and answer why we think Vikings invaded Britain. We made predictions before looking at the evidence and then answered again once we had looked at the evidence.
I am very proud to say that the Fishlake Floods poem Year 3 and 4 wrote during lockdown in March has been published in a brand new book documenting the floods. The book is an incredible document of the flood and has been written by residents of Fishlake. They were thrilled to hear about our poem and asked to include it in the book.
Today was the launch of the book in the village and I was proud to present them with our beautiful framed poem and artwork, which is going to be placed in the village hall.
They in turn, presented me with a copy of the book to bring into school
So well done, your beautiful work is both published and on display for posterity in the village!

We have been working on place value in year 4. This has included ordering and comparing 4-digit numbers.
I have seen great team work in the team building sessions I have ran this week. The children had to work together to bake buns for our Plover community. Well done to all children involved this week!

What a lovely day we had on Monday at Murton Park and we were very lucky with the weather! The children were really well behaved and all received 10 crew coins when they got back to school.
