Fabulous Flames!

In KS1 yesterday our Expedition lesson was about how to draw fire and flames, we wanted to create fabulous 2D artwork. I think you will agree, the children have done an amazing job.

Darcy worked really hard on keeping his colouring in the lines, he thought carefully about the shape and brightness of his colours.
Ellis experimented with watercolours.
Talliah looked carefully at the models – look at her work in progress – her eye for detail is super.
Vittoria’s looking proud… look how she has carefully drew and coloured her flame. I love the sparks coming off it.

We are Musicians!

Thank you so much to everyone for sharing their learning. We have really enjoyed watching what you have been up to!

We would like to give a huge shout out to everyone for taking part in the Music session from our expedition learning. We have chosen just a few examples of your amazing work below. Well done to Darwin, Johnny, Scarlett, Isabelle and Shayen for your unbelievable percussion work for our rhyme.

Shayen, this is yours for your learning today!

We are having problems converting and uploading the videos for Scarlett, Darwin and Isabelle but as soon as we have solved it, we will add them here. Sorry to keep you waiting for them!

Shout outs in 1/2C

Darcy continued his learning in English and created a fabulous word art using his knowledge of Shape Poetry.
Khongkwan spent time creating her own Shape, Acrostic and rhyming poems. Great work Khongkwan.

Weighing Wonders!

In Year 1 we have been exploring weight, we wondered which objects were heavier and lighter, or which would have an equal mass. We used balance scales to see if our predictions were correct.

We extended our learning to comparing weights to 1Kg. Could we find objects heavier and lighter?

The Masked Reader

Take a look at our World Book Day website! Children have looked at the website during Crew this morning. We currently have a lot of excitement in school as children ask one another, ‘Who’s that behind the book?’ Each day leading up to World Book Day, 4 masked readers will be added to the site with clues to their identity. Can you guess who is behind each book?

Are you feeling inspired? Why not send a picture of yourself, with your face hidden behind a book, to your teacher. You could try other ways to disguise your identity too! You can also write your own clues to try and help your peers work out who is hiding!

Reading, Poetry and Music

In Year 1 today we have been doing lots of reading, listening and retrieval. Followed by poetry where we discussed the features of different poems. Finished with children exploring their classroom to make some music, using different objects in a variety of ways as musical instruments to the nursery rhyme London’s Burning!
