(Last Tuesday)
What a full on, busy but beautiful afternoon spending time with our fantastic families exploring different activities and cultures from around the world!
A huge shout out to our generous families who brought in lots of delicious food!
Thank you to Atlasā mum for her live cooking and allowing some children to help her cook.
Thank you to Aseelās mum for sharing some wonderful clothing and henna patterns.
Thank you to Aaravās mum for her dancing experience.

1M were blown away by Rufus’ historical knowledge about WW2 and his model spitfire he had made at home with his grandad! 10CC Rufus – amazing speaking! #LovePlover
Well done to Charlie who is our pride of Plover for showing courage by taking part in PE and for coaching other children in their maths learning!
Today has been scorching, so the children have enjoyed a nice refreshing ice pop to help cool them down. This was after they’d drawn their Plover logos, done their writing and spent some time reading for pleasure! #LovePlover
Mr Meade and Mrs Price took five Y1 and five reception children to learn a bit about Armthorpeās mining history! Our children have also planted a time capsule of their beautiful expedition work, which will be re-opened in 5 years time! This was a beautiful experience which links very closely to both EYFS and KS1ās current expeditions.
Thank you grown ups for your cooperation as always! #LovePlover
Following yesterday’s culture day, Avianna brought in this brilliant drawing of the tallest mountains in Nepal, which is her families native country.
I praise how Avianna has used different techniques of shading to add detail to her drawing – 10 crew coins! #LovePlover
Thank-you 2B and all supporting adults for this afternoon! We have been busy it feels like weāve been all over the world trying different traditional foods, clothes and dances! Massive shoutout to parents for getting involved and sharing their culture and religion with us – itās important to us because it makes up a huge part of your belonging so I am grateful for the opportunity to celebrate that with you all today.
Special shoutout to all the parents who cooked/baked and bought in food – it was delicious!!! And also thank-you to Aseelās Mum and Dad for helping all the children in KS1 with henna tattoos and dressing the adults in the traditional Sudanese dress called galabeya!

Wow! What a fab afternoon we have all had. We have taste tested foods from the world, danced to music from different cultures and designed Henna patterns.
A huge thank you to our parents who came to celebrate with us and for your engagement this afternoon. It is very much appreciated.

Some lovely cultures and clothes in our class!
