Sharing Stories

We are beginning to think ahead to next year and our Autumn Expedition in LKS2.

Do you know anybody (Grandparents, family members, friends or organisations) who would be willing to share their experiences of World War (at home or in the forces) with our children to help them with their learning?

If you know of anyone, please could you let Mrs Graves know, so that we can begin to plan ahead.

Thank you for your support,

Mrs Graves

Super first day

Lucas had his first day with us today and made an excellent start. He used his imagination, took turns and shared.

Well done Lucas.

Working hard

Shoutout to Dolly who worked extra hard in maths today and used the correct terminology. Dolly was so engaged in her task, she continued independently into provision.

Using imagination

I was really impressed with the learning outside this morning. The children used their imagination to create a pirate ship and then be pirates on it. They listened to each others ideas and responded to what was said.

Being imaginative

Today we are acting our pirate, mermaid and sea creature stories. The children have extended their learning by creating a pirate boat and pirate/mermaid masks. We are having lots of fun pretending to sail away to a desert island.

Armthorpe Miners Memorial Garden

Mr Meade and Mrs Price took five Y1 and five reception children to learn a bit about Armthorpeā€™s mining history! Our children have also planted a time capsule of their beautiful expedition work, which will be re-opened in 5 years time! This was a beautiful experience which links very closely to both EYFS and KS1ā€™s current expeditions.

Thank you grown ups for your cooperation as always! #LovePlover

Pride of Plover

Well done to our F2 yellow tshirt winners this week, Lita and Avaarni.

Lita has been trying so so hard with her learning this week and has shown great perseverance. She is becoming a lot more confident in answering questions in class and trying things for herself.

Avaarni has been extremely kind to her peers and other visitors that we have had in school. She showed compassion to children that visited from Heatherwood School and engaged beautifully with them, asking lots of questions.

My turn, your turn

In maths today the children each had a role. One person had to spin the spinner and tell their partner the double they needed to make. The other person had to make the double and say the equation. they then swapped over. Lots of children were able to say doubles and could check if their answers were correct.
