The Pride of Plover for F2S goes to…

Kyran Timms.

You have worked so hard with blended learning in the classroom and at home. You are a model pupil in the classroom, kind, caring and give everything 100%. Then when you are at home you join us for every hangout and carry on as if you’ve been at home all week.

Well done you and thank you to Mummy for being so supportive!

Watercolours

We experienced using watercolours today and the children were able to choose to paint if they wanted to. We had some amazing pictures and the children enjoyed being artists.

Here are some of our creations.

Well done to our artists.

Our Pride of Plover went to Liwan today, She has had an amazing week especially in reading, writing and phonics. Well done Liwan.

Well done everyone!

Today I would like to give a shout out to all of our parents, who are at home, juggling family, snow, shopping, pets, work and home schooling! Well done to all of you who are doing such a wonderful job. Five weeks into lockdown, it sometimes seems to get more difficult everyday, but you’re doing wonderfully. I apologise for my learning being late today, as leaky plumbing was added into my list of things to cope with this morning! Remember if I can help you at all, drop me an email and I’ll ring you back. Best wishes to you all, Mrs Ibbertson.

Great sentences

Well done Helen-Rose and Anna for your super sentences. Both girls wrote great sentences about Goldilocks. I was impressed by their perseverance and ability to improve their own learning.

Today we are going to think about stranger danger.
Was Goldilocks safe -when she went into the woods, strangers house? What is a stranger?
Look at the safer stranger power point. Who is someone who would be safe?

Write a message to Goldilocks to tell her what she should have done. Send us your messages

Porridge, Porridge, Porridge.

This week we have been scientists!

We have been tasting porridge with different toppings, feeling wet and dry porridge and exploring how it changes. Some of us have even been wearing porridge!

Who ate the sweets?

Friday’s lesson
In this lesson children will use a number grid and objects to find one less than a given number within 20.
You will need 20 counting objects and the grid that you used for the parking game. You could use sweets to count or food.
There were 20 sweets and 1 sweet went missing how many were left? If you are green standard say the equation. If you are gold say the taking away equation.
20 take away 1 is equal to 19. 1 less than 20 is 19. Carry on with the other objects. If you use food you could eat as you work out the answer!

You could practice with other things for a tea party.

Video lesson

Share with us what you have found out about numbers today.

We are writers.

Today we have been labelling and writing sentences for the story of Goldilocks.

The children did Think Pair Share to share their ideas of what we could write for the lables. They sounded out the words using the graphemes that they know.

Casey got our Pride of Plover postcard today for working really hard at sounding out the words, saying the sentence and then trying to write it. Well done Casey.
