Our favourite characters – dress up day!

It’s been so lovely to see everyone dressed up as their favourite characters today, and talk about our favourite books. Well done to Conor and James who won our prizes this morning for the best homemade costumes, and to Astral and Maria who won this afternoon. Well done to everybody who worked to on their handmade costumes, they were all amazing!

Character Breakfast

This morning the children were treated to a fairy tale breakfast, whilst listening to the story ‘There is no dragon in this story’. We had Prince Charming, Fairy Godmother, Cinderella, Big Bad Granny Wolf and Minnie Mouse all join us. Then the children painted different characters from different fairy tales, before acting out being different characters and building castles for the princesses! #LovePlover

Hooked in and ready for launch!

2P had a great week doing different activities to launch our new expedition – North, South, East and West: Where could your journey take you? We turned our phase into a mini-airport and we prepared ourselves to go on a journey. We all brought our boarding passes to take us on journeys all over the world. We prepared our passports and wrote down the clothes we would need to pack in our suitcases. We then boarded the plane and prepared for our flight! In English, we made mini flip-flops to hook into our performance poem about travelling. We also critiqued the artwork of notable artists who had created self-portraits. This was to inspire us in preparation for our final product. We had a great time and can’t wait to learn what will come next!

We care Wednesday Crew

In Crew this week, Years 3 and 4 have been thinking about the health of their bodies as well as their mental health too. They have discovered that exercise is not only good for bodies, but that it also activates and cleanses minds; making people feel happier from the serotonin and endorphins that are released during the time that they exercise! Aerobic exercises like running, cycling and swimming are particularly effective. Exercise boosts the brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) which supports the production and release of serotonin as well as overall brain health! Because of this, Crew Haycock and 3H have pledged to carry out some physical exercise (in addition to their PE lessons in school) for ten minutes a day.

Go Crew Haycock – you’ve got this and so have I. I pledge to do this additional exercise with you!
