For today’s P.E. we began by developing our bowling and batting skills in cricket. Unfortunately, rain stopped play so we headed inside to stretch and relax with some yoga. Great co-operation and involvement from all, well done!

In Crew we learnt about the important safety rules about trains and railways!
In PE we developed our racquet striking skills and active maths learnt our left and rights.

Cross country competition
Well done to all the people that participation in the KS2 cross country competition. You should all we so proud of yourselves!
Year 4 PE
Year 4 has been practicing their bowling skills again by throwing the ball to their teams, before they started practicing using their bats. In the last 20 minutes of the PE session, year 4 got into groups where there was a bowler, a batter, a wicket keeper and 2 fielders and they played a mini games of cricket. They were fantastic in their practice!

As part of striking and fielding the children developed their bowling skills working on under arm and over arm throwing. #LovePlover



Year 3 PE
Year 3 had been practicing underarm and over arm bowling today. Their goal was to hit the wicket with their throws, then once they were confident on this, they moved onto hitting the ball with the bat. They worked on improving their batting skills by hitting the ball back.
Year 6 PE
Today year 6 had been learning ball skills for cricket. After observing how to bowl a ball, they practiced this by trying to hit the wicket and catch the ball. They then learnt how to use the bat and practiced swinging it to hit the ball to the bowler. At the end, year 6 played a mini game of cricket, batting the ball to the fielders. Well done year 6 for great practice today!
Year 4 PE
A new term meant a new sport to learn the skills of and this term, year 4 are going to be learning how to play cricket/rounders. Today, they spoke about how to hit the wicket by bowling the ball. They practiced that and worked with each other to improve their throwing and bowling skills. Next, the bats came into play and after being shown how to properly hold the bat, the teams played small games of cricket where the aim was to hit the wicket. They worked incredibly hard today!

Throwing, catching and bowling in 5L
5L learned a lot in PE this morning. Children practiced how to accurately throw underarm and over arm as well as how to bowl, ready to progress towards a cricket game. Keep practicing 5L!
