A huge thank you to South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, who awarded Plover Primary a cycling workshop prize with Ed Clancy – triple Olympic Gold Champion and Active Travel Commissioner. In recognition of our schools promotion of active travel, alongside the number of children participating in the Mayor’s Walk and Wheel Challenge.

Thank you to Emily Cherry (CEO- The Bikeability Trust) and the bikeability team, for their generous donation of balance bikes to the children of Plover.

Thank you to Cycle North for their engaging and supportive ‘learn to ride’ workshops, teaching 26 of our KS2 pupils to ride a bike for the very first time.

Thank you to Judith Shaw from Doncaster Council Road Safety Education, for your kind donation of bike lights.

We enjoyed a whole school assembly led by the inspirational Ed Clancy, children were awarded with bikeability badges and snap bands. #LovePlover #Bikeability #CycleNorth #SYMCA

Hi all F2

Can all children in F2 please come to school tomorrow in comfortable warm clothing, waterproofs and wellies and bring their water bottle.

Can all children be dropped off promptly at normal school time 8.40am. Parent helpers please then walk around to the main reception to be signed in.

Thank you

Brilliant Balance Bikers!

In F2BP today, we had a great morning learning balancing skills. The children listened to the instructions really well, kept safe and had fun. We had one fall but she got back on and was a trooper! We have so much fun in F2! IT IS GREAT COMING TO SCHOOL 🙂

F2 Pride of Plover

Niana is the Pride of Plover in F2BP for always being so kind and working so hard in school. F2M’s Pride of Plover has been an absolute superstar too who can write name beautifully. #LovePlover

F2BP postcards

Riley and Alex showed that they were kind to each other today when they were sharing with the train and train track. The train track was broken and the pieces didn’t connect together. They worked together to solve the problem.

Leo has worked hard and has shown excellent behaviour.

Cohen worked hard in his writing and wrote words on is own for the first time.

Well done everyone.

Making 5

Shout out to Farhan and Ada who worked smartly to build a tall tower which was 5 blocks tall. Well done to Tommy, Liarna and Faye who were able to make 5 for the bears play dough. #LovePlover

F2 Pride of Plovers

Well done to Jacoby in F2BP for starting to blend in phonics, you little superstar. Well done to Laura in F2M, for being the sweetest little girl and for knowing all her phonics sounds that we have learnt so far. #LovePlover

Will it roll? Will it slide?

We have been exploring shapes today. We decided which shapes were best for building and we talked about why.

We sorted shapes into those that could roll or slide or both.

We then tried to build with the shapes in provision.

Have a look at our towers. We definitely couldn’t build with the sphere and noticed that we could only use a cone if it went on top.
