Well done Y3

Well done to Y3 today who have been working hard on their rhyming skills.

We have been working on rhyming couplets both in home and at school and the children have produced some fantastic work. The children online brought a smile to my face as some of their rhymes were really silly! It was good fun to laugh along at the rhymes together!

I want to make a special shout out for Jude. Jude’s mum emailed me to say Jude couldn’t wait to start his work. He beamed all through the lesson and even shared his poem with the group at the end! He impressed me even more when I marked his work and saw he had hand written his rhyming couplets and typed them up too!

Well done everyone, keep up the great work! #loveplover

Well done Year 3 & 4! What a week!

A big well done to Year 3 and Year 4 for how you have engaged with online learning and worked hard in school.

Who would have thought at the start of the week that we would have had volcanoes, snow and disco – but we did and so hopefully that has helped you to have fun.

Miss Topliss and Miss Lister have been full of praise of the effort Year 3 have been putting into their learning and Miss Lotysz and myself feel the same about Year 4.

I look forward to reading the shape poems that you have been writing and also seeing your photographs of the fun you have had in the snow.

Enjoy your weekend and look out for this week’s Feel Good Friday video on the blog.

Pride of Plover

Well done for a super week 3T and 3L. I am really proud of all your efforts this week, both for the children online and in school.

I also just want to apologise for the ICT ‘glitches’ during the disco! I am seeking some ICT support to try and improve things for next time, thank you for being so patient with me. Miss Lister and I are lucky to teach such mature children!

Congratulations to Angel for winning the Pride of Plover for her independence and confidence when working online. Well done to Eva too for her independence when working online abs submitting wonderful work. Keep an eye on your post!

Have a lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing you on Monday!

Learning about the continents in Y3!

Well done to those children who logged on today in Year 3! I am proud of each and every one of you. You all took me by surprise when you logged back on for our HoWLs and every person brought back their super expedition learning. Thank you so much for the effort you put in to this afternoon. If you have any photos, please send them. These are the ones that I have received so far. Thank you to Jude, Angel, Lily-Grace, Frazer, Eva and Kayden! Keep up the great work Year 3. #loveplover

Great work so far Year 3 and 4

I just wanted to do a ‘shout out’ to all the children in year 3 and 4 who have been logging on and completing work. You really are becoming experts in using classrooms and have make such progress since last Wednesday. Well done -I’m sure you can teach the grown ups a thing or two now.

We have had some lovely practical learning being completed at home and in school to support our Natural Disasters expedition, with the home made volcanoes coming along very nicely. I can’t wait till next week when we start being scientists and completing experiments with them. Advanced notice for next week, you will need some vinegar, bicarbonate of soda and if possible (but not essential) some red or orange food colouring. If you can’t get hold of that, some Coca Cola and a mint will work too.

We have decided to celebrate learning at 2pm Friday afternoon, by turning Plover Praise time into our very own ‘Plover Virtual Disco’ – so get your party clothes on, do your hair and get ready to boogie!

Check out our wonderful volcanoes – you still have time to make your own ready for our ‘explosive’ experiments next week.

Volcano fun!

Our children in school have been busy painting their salt dough volcanoes today! We’ve been using Katie-May’s home made model as inspiration. We’ve put the base coat of paint on today and we are excited to add red, orange and yellow to represent the lava! #loveplover
