VE Day Celebrations

What a lovely time we had singing WW2 songs and sharing a picnic soon the school field at lunchtime today, to commemorate 80 years since VE Day.

After posing for a whole school photo, it was time for a bit of fun, with some dancing and singing some more recent tunes!

We took a moment to thank those who gave their lives for us today.

F2BP VE day celebrations

We learnt about VE day and listened to some songs which the children danced to. We then made medals to remind us of the war heroes. We enjoyed our picnic on the field too. We learnt to play hopscotch like the children in the war would have played.

Information regarding London 2025

We are asking children to be in school on Thursday 3rd July at 7am for a prompt departure at 7:30am.

Children are required to provide a packed lunch on day one which will be eaten when we stop off at the services.

We aim to arrive in London at approximately 12 o’clock and this is when we will embark on our river Thames cruise. At approximately 5pm, children will go for their tea at Pizza Express (they have already pre ordered their meals). After their meal, they will go to the theatre to watch back to the future the musical. Children are welcome to bring an additional drink and one bag of sweets/bar of chocolate for the show. We will then head back to the hotel and aim to arrive at 11:30pm.

The following day, children will head to the all you can eat breakfast before departing to Legoland at 10am. They will then spend the day there, have McDonalds for their dinner (funded as their end of year treat) and will then set off home. We expect to be back for 7pm but you will be communicated via text with updates.

As always, photos and updates will be blogged throughout the trip and shared on our school Facebook page.

Unfortunately, children are unable to take phones or spending money.

If your child requires medicine whilst they are away, these must be taken to the Mrs Carter and you must sign a medical form so it can be legally adminsitrated.

I would advise children taking conformable shoes, a water bottle, a sunhat, possibly a coat incase it rains and comfortable clothing.

If you have any further questions, please pop me an email.

Thank you for your continued support.
