We Are Imaginative

Following our expedition input around our key text “CAKE”, the children played nicely alongside each other to make their own cupcakes and cookies. We used our motor skills to roll the play dough, using both our hands and rolling pins, and used cutters to create shapes.

Hook into our expedition

Yesterday we had a surprise box in our classroom, we looked at what items were inside and discovered that our expedition learning was going to be all about celebrations! We read the story CAKE, and were very excited to learn about parties.

Y6 get ahead in your maths learning

10 crew coins to all children who get ahead in their learning and engage with the above vide. Please bring in your home learning to your class teacher to redeem your crew coins.

By getting ahead in your learning, it will support you by giving you a heads start in the lesson and it will also support you in your weekly arithmetic tests. This is also a fantastic example of leading your own learning!

Maths in F2BP

We were helping Rat to find out ‘how many’ today. Sometimes, we could subitise and others we needed to do careful touch counting. In Provision, we played games with the dice to subitise and helped Rat learn how to subitise too- say how many you can see.

Gorgeous collages

Year 5 have been getting creative in art, inspired by the brilliant artist Clare Youngs. Clare makes colourful animal collages using lots of different shapes, patterns and textures – and we decided to have a go ourselves!

Our theme was rainforest animals. We created creatures like butterflies, jaguars, toucans, birds and monkeys. First, we drafted our ideas and sketched out how our animals might look. Then came the really exciting part – working with a partner to create a final collage together. It was great fun to share ideas, combine our designs and see how two brains could come together to make one amazing piece of artwork.

The finished collages are bright, bold and full of rainforest life. They look incredible on display and really show off our teamwork as well as our creativity.

We’re so proud of what we’ve made – Clare Youngs would be too!

Lots of celebrations in our community crew!

This lovely lot were presented with certificates for their participation in last week’s pizza making workshop. Another example of craftsmanship and quality as they made the most beautiful pizzas!

Well done everyone

Animal Antics in PE

We had so much fun in PE, moving like different animals. We made a small sequence by putting 2 different movements together. Mason got our sports superstar sticker for being so good at this part. We ended with a game of ‘Zoo Escape’. Mrs Bubb and some helpers were the zoo keepers who had to catch the animals trying to escape. It was so exciting!

Beautiful craftsmanship and quality in 6B

Just look at all of this amazing artwork! 6B have blown me away this morning when designing their own Kapok trees! A fantastic example of craftsmanship and quality- one of our character traits!
