Crew Meade Pay Their Respects

In crew last Thursday, we talked about real life heroes and soldiers who have lost their lives, been injured or fought in wars. We discussed how it is important to celebrate and remember these kind people, as part of Remembrance Sunday. We spoke about the significance of a poppy and made our very own poppy hand wreath. Abbie and Mustafa respectfully laid our wreath today in assembly, as we had a whole school 2-minute silence. #LovePlover

Fire Fighter Experts in F2

Amongst all the craziness and celebrations last week. We had an awesome visit from two expert firefighters and their amazing fire truck! The children had a safety talk about bonfire night and fireworks. Then they found out why firefighters are so kind and help people in their jobs. Before exploring the fire truckā€™s cool equipment and spraying the giant hose! #LovePlover

Shining bright!

To celebrate shining our lights this week, we had a glow party. All week we have noticed kindness in the jobs people do and also in ourselves and how we spread kindness like light. We are so proud of all our children this week- they light up our lives every single day!

We Are Historians

This week we have done a slice on ā€˜how can you shine your light?ā€™ We have learnt about Diwali and Bonfire Night, including the history of Guy Fawkes. We spoke about Bonfire safety and created our own sparklers and fireworks pictures in provision, the children have worked so hard.

Shine your light!

What a brilliant afternoon we had! We had some expert visitors.

Firefighters shine their light by saving people and keeping them safe. We learned about keeping safe on bonfire night. The most fun part was trying their kits on…or was it using the hose to knock the footballs off the cones? Or was being in the drivers seat of he truck? Or was it being in the back trying on the headphones and looking out of the windows pretending to be real FIREFIGHTERS? Oh, we can’t choose! Another awesome day at Plover school!
