Today we managed to raise £60 on our ice pop sale so thank you so much to everyone who bought one. Some children were too excited to eat their ice pops that they didn’t want a photo. We know some children had forgotten their money so please don’t worry, we will be selling ice pops again next week.

Last Friday in KS1, and this morning in KS2, we had the inspirational and extraordinary Ray Matthews – a true role model!
Ray is an avid sportsman and a national icon, due to the astonishing achievements he has accomplished and vast amount of fundraisers he has done during his 79 years.
In a few weeks Ray turns 80, and 80 schools, will be completing 80 miles to raise money for Rays chosen charity Age UK! https://www.peoplesfundraising.com/donation/rays808080birthdaychallenge
As a school we see the importance of physical activity and exercise, and therefore from Monday we will be making a stand as a whole school crew, to complete the daily mile every single day – all children and all staff!

As this week is all about healthy eating, today we tried different fruits! Some of them our children had never tried before so it was a new experience which was very eye opening. Safe to say the pineapple and pomegranate were the favourites!
A huge shout out to Lola and Mo who have both impressed me so much this morning. They were both leading their own learning by using models to support their learning on their slides, I heard great mathematical vocabulary too! 10 crew coins each- superstars!

At Plover, we have introduced toast at break times at no costs to children for everyone to keep their tummies full! As you can see Years 5&6 were so happy to be tucking into their toast!

Next week in Crew, we will have the opportunity to try a range of fruits. There will be a range of home learning challenges to get involved in so keep an eye out for those on the blog. Year 5&6 children were given an amazing opportunity today to work with Martin and Watson from Doncaster Dons. The children were so excited and have really enjoyed themselves. We’ve had lots of children ask for a tag-rugby club next year because they had so much fun! Thank you Martin and Watson for a fantastic experience!

Thank you so much to those children in 5/6 who stayed for film night which helped raise funds for our phase! The children are full on hotdogs, juice and biscuits. Of course they are watching Harry Potter as we have lots of Harry Potter fans now thanks to the hook of our latest Expedition!
