We are historians

We have been back in school a week. It has been different with some children in school and some at home but it has been a delight to check-in with the children each day. Last week we were artists and we learnt to paint and collage.

EYFS have been learning about old and new this week.Ā  We have compared old teddies to new teddies. F2 have practiced reading sentences about old and new. We are all going to the story Peepo and think about what it would have been like to live a long time ago.

We have had some fantastic engagement from the children at home and school. If you are learning at home keep checking in everyday and sharing your learning with us on Evidence Me. We love to see your learning. We are aiming for 100% attendance next week, either through being at school or daily check-in. We can do it!

Have your circumstances changed? YouĀ may be entitled to Free School Meals.

If your child is in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, they have automatically received school meals when they were in school this year, but now we are back to learning from home, you may need to apply for Free School Meals, in order to qualify for the food vouchers to use in supermarkets.

If your child is in Year 3,4, 5 or 6 and your situation has changed, you may also be able to receive Free School Meals for your child.

Have a look at the list below andĀ  visit the DMBC website to apply if you are eligible.

The process is quick and you can find out straight away.

Please contact school if you need support in applying and we will be happy to help.

A different start to the term

Welcome back everyone

Some of you are going to be coming into school and some of you will be learning at home. If you are learning from home then this is the timetable for your learning in F2. It is similar to our learning in school. School will be in touch later today to check that everyone has access to a device and the internet.

F2 online routine

Mrs Renwick and Mrs Ibbertson will be sharing F1 timetable with you later today.

There will be 2 hangouts each day at 9.00 and 2.30. It is important that you join these hangouts to participate in our learning. Your class teacher will send you a meeting request to the email that we have saved on Evidence Me.

Today will be different. We will do a hangout at 1.30 to introduce our learning.

We are looking forward to seeing you on line or in person today.

Christmas Whole School Assembly – 2020 style

Adapting and changing has been the norm in 2020 and no more so when it comes to assemblies in bubbles!

Well done Mrs Ogle for organising our end of year whole school quiz! I wonder which class will be the winner?

Nativity performance

Well done to all EYFS for all their hard work in preparing for and performing this yearā€™s nativity. All the children took part whether it was singing, saying the rhymes or dressing up. Here are some of the photos from our practice. We hope to have the video to share with you next week.

Thank you

We have started sending cards to people in the community who have helped us. We sent one to Andy the bus driver today. He was very happy to receive his card and said he had enjoyed his time in school talking to the children.

Thank you Andy for helping us.
