End of week 1!

Good morning everyone!

We have made it to the end of a very bizarre week with so many changes. You have all adapted brilliantly so thank you to you and your parents for all of the effort you have put in to getting involved in your learning. We had even more pupils online again yesterday, which is amazing! Please try and join your class teacher for 9am to find out the winner of this week’s Pride of Plover. There are so many deserving winners this week!

Here is the long list of today’s lesson links. Please try and click on the right link at the right time so that you end up in the correct place!

Have a great day. Keep sending in pictures of any home learning you have been doing and please get in touch if you have any problems. We are working our way through as many as we can every day.

End of the week shout out

We would like to say a big thank you to all the parents who have enabled their children to access electronic devices and complete the learning they have been asked to do. We have seen some amazing learning this week.

For all children learning at home please remember that your child needs to log on daily to the Google hangout/meet in a morning at 9.00. As well as checking in and accessing the morning learning this enables us to see your child. We need to see them to register them and this is important for safeguarding purposes. If you child doesn’t log on please send us a photo of them with that days learning before 9.30.

Thank you

Mrs Price and Mrs Shuka

Stage 1 – Salt Dough Sculpting

LKS2 got crafty this afternoon. We completed the first part of creating our own Volcano models – but first we had to make the salt dough – it was very sticky.

We will leave the models to dry over the next few days and then we will paint them to make them look more realistic.

The challenge has been set to create a Volcano backdrop scene out of a shoe box.

We will eventually be using our volcano models for scientific experiments – so if you haven’t had chance to make it yet, don’t leave it too late.

You can find the salt dough recipe and volcano instructions on Thursday 7th January on Google Classroom.

What a busy, busy but truly rewarding day! A massive  appreciation to all parents for your efforts and understanding to ensure your superstars are safe, happy and accessing their learning.

It was marvellous today to see more and more of 1M join the live remote sessions, its certainly brightened up my week and hopefully yours too seeing your friends! Lets see if we can continue and get more online tomorrow. Also, a shout out to the children who have still been accessing their learning and sending it in to me, catching up from yesterday too! Thank you.

Shout out to the key worker children in school who are also continuing to work hard!

Look at our superstars in Y1/2C

I have to give a huge shout out to the children and parents that have been joining us for the live lessons.  It has been great to see so many of your smiling faces.  We have completed English, Maths, Phonics, Expedition and I think a firm favourite of our pupils has been the live PE lessons – Thanks Mr Meade!

Here’s a selection of some of the great work you have been completing.  I’m so proud of you all.

More gorgeous hook week creations!

It’s been amazing to see so many children at home getting involved in hook week! We have seen so many fabulous creations based on our new Expedition- ‘How did the coal mining industry shape Doncaster?’

I can’t wait to engage in this Expedition further over the next term! If any parents/carers have any stories they know of in relation to mining experiences- please let me know as we would love to hear from you!
