We are Getting Smart!

Today, we tried our best to Get Smart whenever we could. Here are a few sneaky shots of some of us using the tools we have around the room as support materials…

Yellow T-Shirt Winner

Mo has been an absolute superstar for the last 5 weeks and has emulated the Plover Pledge day-in, day-out. This has not gone unnoticed, Mo! You really are a fabulous role model and are very much deserving of the yellow t-shirt.

Well done!🌟

Morris has contributed so well to everyone’s learning today, with great suggestions about what we can include in our Viking Diary!

Well done, Morris , you are working hard!

Maths Monday’s

I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend. We’ve been looking at number bonds to 20 in maths and today we looked at subtraction. We used cubes and hoops and had whiteboards to make number sentences to represent what we did. We started with our whole which is 20 and took some away to create two parts! Have a look…

See if you can show your adults at home what a part part whole model looks like. It could be using pencils, sweets, coins! Can you write the number sentences? I’d love to see and there might be some extra crew coins in it for you!

This afternoon we continued our expedition learning. We looked at uploading to blogs so stay tuned for some blog posts!

Just a short one today but see you all tomorrow and have lovely evenings!

Everyone is doing a great job with their reading and phonics work, don’t forget to keep practising at home.

Exploring rice

Today we have been exploring rice. We have made patterns and have practiced writing the letters in our names.
You could make coloured rice at home. Place rice, food colouring and a teaspoon of vinegar in a bag. Mix together and leave on a tray to dry.

Do we all celebrate the same?

Today we read the book Shubh Diwali. The children were very interested in how the people in the book celebrated. We thought about how we celebrate and what is the same as us.

Do you celebrate by doing the same things?
