I am really proud of the work produced by the children who are working from home and joining me online. They have taken it in their stride and adapted well.
We have been busy making our very own clocks to help us with our learning in Maths this week. Take a look at our designs below we even have an England themed one.
I am really proud of how 4G have been collaborating to produce their presentation and animation. They have been working so independently and really grappling with new skills using IPads for animation.
The creativity and imagination that they have been showing is brilliant. Well done 4G – Keep it up!
With England’s fantastic result in the Quarter Finals on Saturday. We here at Plover are going to show our support by having a England themed non-uniform day on Wednesday, as England are playing in the Semi-Final on Wednesday evening!
If you don’t have England kits, don’t worry, you can wear other football shirts, PE/sports clothes or something red and white to represent England!
Year 3 have worked incredibly hard this week in preparation for the presentation of their final product. They are working in teams to and have divided roles equally to ensure everyone plays a part in the presentation. #LovePlover
Look at this wonderful example of being a true Crew member. Carys has been signing Luke’s book to him to help him understand what is happening. Both Miss Topliss and Mrs Brown were delighted to see Carys do this without any prompting. It made Luke smile so much. Carys got a very well deserved postcard at home time. #LovePlover
Thank you so much to staff, parents and children for donating to our bake sale! What an amazing Plover community crew effort! 6B is smelling delicious. All cakes and treats have now been wrapped up ready to sell at 3pm. We hope to see you there! -Miss Blackham
We have been really busy in crew over the last couple of weeks researching and designing beautiful bee-friendly gardens as part of the BBC’s Big Bee Challenge competition.
Children may have brought their designs home with an entry form, if they want to the enter the competition.
We will be posting the designs tomorrow but entry forms have to be completed by parents (not school), so please could parents fill in the short entry form and return to school ( or you can post the individually from home if you wish).
The prize is to have the garden created at a children’s hospital and the winners will be invited to the opening on 20th August when they will be on Radio 2 Breakfast show with Zoe Ball. This is why entries need to be completed by parents as you have to guarantee being available on that date.
The children have certainly enjoyed finding out more about the bees and have been really creative with their designs.
So fingers crossed one of our children has the winning design!
We were visited today by representatives from Sandall Beat Wood. They are wanting to replace the play equipment that was destroyed by fire and wanted to know what suggestions Year 4 had to replace it.
First of all, we shared our imaginative ideas and then we were given four stickers to select our favourites from a choice of equipment.
We would like to thank Nicky and Kate for coming and talking to us and also for letting us have a say about what will happen in our community over the next year. We were so inspired by the visit, we then decided to design our own parks to go with our Expedition, how to make Doncaster more healthy.
The children in Year 3 and 4 completed the first of their Daily Miles today when they ran round the school field FIVE times!
It came as a bit of a shock for some, but I am very proud of how seriously the children took their running and how they stuck at it to complete the distance .
We had a timer running so the children can see how their times improve over the next couple of weeks.
They were certainly ready for their lunch when they finished! Sadly I haven’t got any pictures today, as I was running myself – but I will be certain to get some tomorrow!
