The Masked Reader

Take a look at our World Book Day website! Children have looked at the website during Crew this morning. We currently have a lot of excitement in school as children ask one another, ‘Who’s that behind the book?’ Each day leading up to World Book Day, 4 masked readers will be added to the site with clues to their identity. Can you guess who is behind each book?

Are you feeling inspired? Why not send a picture of yourself, with your face hidden behind a book, to your teacher. You could try other ways to disguise your identity too! You can also write your own clues to try and help your peers work out who is hiding!

Reading, Poetry and Music

In Year 1 today we have been doing lots of reading, listening and retrieval. Followed by poetry where we discussed the features of different poems. Finished with children exploring their classroom to make some music, using different objects in a variety of ways as musical instruments to the nursery rhyme London’s Burning!

Before we welcome you all back into school next Monday 8th March, where we will all be together as a whole Crew 🙂

We look forward to celebrating all your hard work and achievement during remote learning this week and let’s continue by finishing it off superbly.

The end is near!

Good morning 2P for what is the start of our last week learning apart (hopefully!).

I really can’t wait to get the whole class back together again and catch up with you all. This week needs just one more really big push to keep the learning going and keep engaged with everything that has been planned. I know you can all do it!

This week is mainly focussed on creating a poem for the final product of our expedition. You can even begin researching poetry based on the Fire of London if you want to pinch a bit of a head start!

Have a great day.

Y1/2 Pride of Plover

This weeks superstar is Ella.

Ella has only been back in school a week,  but she has already been a huge support to her friends.  She has been helpful, provided excellent advice and supported those who needed help in lessons. Ella has been an all round fabulous member of our crew.  We are so proud of you.

Pride of Plover Winner

Congratulations to Lucas who is 1Ms Pride of Plover winner this week for working hard in expedition and be really inquisitive asking questions about the geography of London in 1666 compared to modern day London!

Have a great weekend everyone and a well earned rest, ready for Monday!
Stay safe,

The winner this week was as difficult to choose as always.

Our winner was someone who has shown great determination and resilience in their learning. They have only recently rejoined the school but they have already shown how keen they are to impress. They have a clear passion to want to do their best learning all of the time and they are not afraid to think of ways to improve what they have done. This week’s winner is…

Barrington!

Congratulations!

Donuts!

A massive congratulations to Tim who was the winner of our reading incentive over the last month. Every child who read a book (either online or in school) earned an entry into the draw. The wheel was spun yesterday and Tim was our lucky winner. Massive congratulations to you.  Please don’t eat all of your donuts in one go or you might be regretting it!

Well done to everyone who managed to get involved and keep up that amazing reading practise!
