It was fabulous to see the children trying lots of different fruit as part of our healthy eating activities. First they thought about a balanced diet, looking at the different food groups. Then came the tasting…
look how well they did,
We then created our own biscuit pizzas, using our favourite fruits. Yummy.
Today we have really enjoyed exploring different fruits and learning why they form a really important part of a healthy, balanced diet. For some of us, it was the first time we had tried fruit such as mango, kiwi and pomegranate. It was quite a discovery for some children to realise that they are delicious! Expect some specific requests on your shopping lists this week! We then turned our fruit into a simple, mainly healthy, fruit pizza. The children chose their own yoghurt and toppings and then tried to eat them without spilling any. Not easy! We then enjoyed eating all of the remaining fruit until we were full.
Shout out to Patryk, Kodish, Syler-Rose, Sheyan and Sumit for winning their Million Minutes reading certificates! Celebrated by all KS1. 👏🏽📚
We had a special guest in assembly this morning. And I truly mean a world wide inspiration – Ray Matthews.
All KS1 were immersed and amazed by the astonishing achievements 79 year old sports enthusiast Ray has and is still accomplishing!
Ray will be back visiting KS2 next Friday, to launch the daily mile fundraiser which Plover are participating in. 80 schools, running 80miles for Rays 80th birthday!
In Plover Praise this afternoon the KS1 Crew showed their skipping skills to promote and launch being active! Well done Miss Millington who did the most skips 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Enjoy your weekend KS1 children, parents and staff… stay safe, get active and have lots of fun in the sun!
Congratulations to Baran (1M) and Skyla (1.2C) for winning the yellow t-shirt this week. Both children have worked extremely hard with their learning this week.
Shout out to the KS1 crew! The children thoroughly enjoyed their film night, hot dogs, milkshakes and biscuits last night.
A huge thank you to all parents, for your continued cooperation and support with your childrens fundraisers. They help so much to allow opportunities which develop the childrens school and learning experiences!
