We have been learning to critique our art work in order to edit and improve our designs. The children looked closely at animal pictures talking about the features that they could see.
Have a look at some of our designs.

We are challenging ALL of our pupils to enter our half-term art competition. We would love you to create a piece of art to display proudly in our school staff room. You can create any piece of artwork you like! Please ensure any contributions are given to your class teacher on the 31st October who will pass them on to myself and the winners will be notified on the 1st November. There will be numerous prizes: the most creative, the brightest, the most unique and an overall winner!
We hope you all get involved and we cannot wait to see all your beautiful art creations!

This week Year 1 have been working as artists. We have been learning how to use powder paint to mix primary and secondary sources. We have also been working on mastering brush control. We can’t wait to show you our Great Fire of London artwork.
Earlier this week, Rhys produced a beautiful piece of work which he was so proud of! He tried so hard so we just had to display it on our ābeautiful workā display. I hope to see work just as beautiful next week Rhys!

Yesterday, 6SB worked really hard with Mr Schofield to cut the wood to an accurate size to start building their planters. They have spent all week designing their planters and then restarting their designs based on critique. The planters are going to be used to grow vegetables to donate to the Plover pantry! I canāt wait to see the finished product!

Today we have been exploring what happens when you mix two colours together. We used the primary colours to paint our hands and then rubbed our hands together, to see what colour they create together.

6SB have been working hard designing our final product for this Expedition. We revisited the purpose of our final product to help us draft our first design. We then researched further factors such as how deep our planters must be to successfully grow produce and we had to consider how they would fit into our greenhouse. We then drafted our second design .
So proud of my lovely bunch!
