Spectacular home learning

I’m am amazed with the home learning Ines has brought in today. She has applied all of our skills this term about Henry Moore to create this amazing piece of work, a fantastic Henry Moore portrait and facts about his life. What a superstar! ⭐️

Henry Moore portraits

For the past few weeks, the children have been building up their art skills to create a portrait of the World War Two Artist, Henry Moore. They have all worked really hard and are all super proud of their final product. Well done 3B!

Investigating Henry Moore’s art

Today, the class investigated Henry Moore’s style of art. We gathered some information about his famous WW2 shelter sketches and annotated some of his artwork. Then, the class were excited to have a go at exploring his method with wax crayons and water colour paint. Next lesson, we will be replicating one of his famous pieces and I can’t wait to see what the class will produce!

We are amazing artists!

We have been working really hard in Years 3 and 4 to produce portraits of our key artist: Henry Moore. Just look at this beautiful work to be proud of…

Every child needs to be proud of their achievements this week. I hope they take on their next artistic challenge of working with the media that Moore had available to him during World War Two with as much enthusiasm and support for each other as they have over the last few days…true crew!

We are artists!

We have been using the skills that we have been building up recently to sketch a portrait of our key artist: Henry Moore. Our skills of observation and proportion have improved dramatically and I cannot wait to see the finished portraits later this week!

Keep looking carefully and working hard everyone. Your artwork is fabulous!

Designing Caves

We’re Going On A Bear Hunt – uh ohhh… a cave!
The children came up with some great adjectives to describe a cave: spooky, rocky, muddy, scary, cold, dark, gloomy, dirty. Then in provision the children enjoyed designing and making their own caves – with things that the bear might like to have in their cave. #LovePlover

Crew Meade Pay Their Respects

In crew last Thursday, we talked about real life heroes and soldiers who have lost their lives, been injured or fought in wars. We discussed how it is important to celebrate and remember these kind people, as part of Remembrance Sunday. We spoke about the significance of a poppy and made our very own poppy hand wreath. Abbie and Mustafa respectfully laid our wreath today in assembly, as we had a whole school 2-minute silence. #LovePlover

“Eye” catching artwork!

In Art, we have been focussing on sketching eyes. We have used our observational skills to try to replicate the features of an eye accurately. Well done, class, for your amazing work!
