Coding abstract art in 5L

5L had so much fun this morning learning how to create art through coding in their computing lesson. I was so impressed with how they created some complex algorithms to create a repeating colourful pattern. The children were really engaged and seemed to enjoy how they could be creative in different ways. I’m so looking forward to seeing what they can do next week!

Ready Steady Cook

As part of hook week. Year 5 immersed themselves into our DT case study and took part in a ready steady cook challenge afternoon. They were given a handful of ingredients and they had to choose what dish to make. They adapted really well to their limited ingredients and were very creative with their dishes and they demonstrated great team work!

Striking and fielding in Y5

Year 5 are focusing on striking and fielding in PE this half term. The children focused on throwing and catching to start and then moved on to having a beginners game of cricket. Keep up the great work Year 5!

Y5 Guiding Question

5L had a great morning trying to work out what our guiding question is for this half term.

A reminder of Year 5’s dress up day- tomorrow!

On Monday 15th April Year 5 will kick start their summer expedition ‘how does a healthy lifestyle impact your body and mind?’ by immersing into their history case studies and becoming Egyptians for the day. We would love children to come dressed as Egyptians. We are encouraging parents to make use of any items they already have to avoid purchasing anything new. We hope the ideas above will help. If you are struggling for ideas, please see your child’s class teacher.
