What do plants need to grow?
Today we have been scientists and learnt what plants need to grow. We discussed if we need the same/different things to help us grow.
Shout out to Aaron this morning who said “plants and children are both living things”.

We can use a thesaurus!
Years 3 and 4 have been playing around with the story ‘Funny Bones’ today. We noticed there was a lot of repetition in the book so decided to re-write a section of it. The word ‘dark’ was banned though, so we had to find as many synonyms for this word as possible!
Keep thinking about different ways to say the same thing. That way, your writing will become so much more exciting and your understanding of vocabulary will soar!

We are the Pride of Plover Pupils!
Well done to everyone who was awarded ‘Pride of Plover’ last week. You worked hard, got smart and were all very kind too. What more can we ask of you? Nothing! Keep it up. I wonder who will be awarded this week?

Am I an insulator or a conductor?
We have been working hard to investigate different materials; finding out if they are insulators or conductors. Then we have used our scientific knowledge to work as writers and produce a full scientific report.
Keep your curiosity growing folks and the conductors will keep the electricity flowing!

We know how switches affect circuits!
It was so good to see the excitement and pride in everyone’s faces when they were able to build a simple circuit with a switch to turn a lightbulb on and off! The pictures show how the children felt about their learning much better than any words I could use, so take a look at the slideshow below…
Well done everyone. I’ll make scientists out off all of you before the end of this expedition! I hope you are enjoying the subject as much as I do. #ScienceRocks!

We want to be rock stars!
What an amazing assembly and experience we all had when Rock Steady joined us to show us how easy it can be to learn the basics of being a rock star! I cannot wait to see the progress made by those who have signed up for the Rock Steady lessons we have on offer to your children.
When you are famous rock stars, can I please be one of your groupies guys?
Rock on!

Yummy veggie fajitas
As part of our expedition, Ready, Steady, Grow: How can I be the healthiest version of me? 2L has been preparing food. We worked in small groups and carefully sliced peppers, mushrooms, and onions, as well as peeling and grating carrots and cheese. We then cooked the veggies and turned them into vegetable fajitas. They were yummy!
