This week, Year 2 have been learning the difference between volume and capacity in Maths. We have learnt about the different units of measurement that are used to measure liquid and which can be used to measure larger or smaller amounts. We then used a range of different containers and worked collaboratively to try and order them in order from the largest capacity to the smallest. We soon worked out the a tall container doesn’t mean a larger capacity ! Great work Year 2!
We Are Artists
Nursery have been working hard to produce lots of beautiful artwork using different media’s. We explored colour mixing to create humpty dumptys, drew our favourite nursery rhymes and collaboratively created collages.

So long, farewell!
This week, Year 2 have said a sad goodbye to our 5 visiting teachers; Miss Studd, Miss Haine, Miss Alexander, Miss Rathbone and Miss Menzies. They have worked with us for many periods of time throughout the school year and have just finished their final time with us. They have offered help, support and brilliant lessons to all of the children in year 2 and have really learnt about what makes our Plover community so special. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to the children in our school!

Oaklands Care Home Visit
It was lovely to take some of our crew coin winners to visit a local care home this morning. The children enjoyed sharing stories, listening to stories and make the elderly community smile. We met a special four legged visitor too! #LovePlover

We are making fossils…
Year 3 have set up an experiment to help them understand fossils and how they are formed. I wonder what they will discover when they finally uncover their buried specimens.
