How does our body grow?

In expedition yesterday, we were scientists. We drew around Thea’s body. We talked about ways we look after different parts of our bodies, how we can stay healthy and who can help us keep healthy. The children shared some brilliant ideas. #LovePlover

How do we look after our bodies?

In F2BP, we drew around Charlotte’s body. We talked about ways we look after different parts of our body. Mrs Bubb was so impressed with all the things we already do to keep our bodies healthy. Watch out for more learning in case study 1, where we will find out what happens to our bodies as we grow.

Creating Faces

The children were able to name all the features on their faces.

What do we use our ears for? Where are our eyes? These were some of the questions children answered and discussed. They then chose in provision to create faces using different materials and medians. #LovePlover

F2 Pride of Plovers

Congratulations to Phoebe and Liarna for being this weeks pride of Plover.

Phoebe has settled into her new school superbly this week and has been spreading lots of happiness to all of the EYFS Crew.
Liarna has impressed us so much with her phonics, Fred talk and writing of letters. Keep up the positive learning! #LovePlover

Being creative

Do you know where your eyes are on your head? This was one of the questions that we answered today. Some of the children thought that they were at the very top but when we used our hands to slide down our faces we realised that they were in the middle.

The children created pictures of faces using different materials and media. Have a look at our creations.

Personal Timelines

We looked at some adorable photos of our crew as toddlers and babies. The children spoke about what they couldn’t do but can do now as a child. Having met a real life baby and toddler this week they came up with really good comparisons. #LovePlover

See how I have grown

We shared the story Once there were giants. We compared the baby and toddler pictures to the visitors we have had this week. The children then drew their own timeline and could say how they have grown and what they can do now.

5 and 2 makes 7

Today we have been learning about numbers within the number seven. We saw that if you placed a tower of 5 cubes behind a tower of 7 you couldn’t see the 5 as 7 was 2 more. The children then explored how to make 7. Well done to Hana and Charlotte who used the blocks to explore 7. Riley and Alex could say different ways to make 7.

Five and one more

In maths today we found out how to make six. They figured out 5 and 1 more was the quickest way to make 6 with out fast fingers! #LovePlover
